LagutaRacingFan
I really don't think crowd funding should be used like this. Naive fans are being taken advantage of. If Birmingham want a donation, they should open their books and show what the money is needed for. GiveusaB
Didn't Newcastle do something like this and then nothing came of it?

Daniel Smith
LRF is absolutely right though. It's very 🐍y to do a survival crowd fund. Imagine giving over £100s & they still fold halfway through the season. Will that £10k increase the supporters through the turnstiles? What about in 2026? Another crowd fund? At the end of the day, the Birmingham Promotion team (and the BSPL as a whole) have to do better. Doing a Crowd Fund is cruel to the desperate Speedway loving fan. Certainly won't be the well off handing over their 💰💰

TTT
Lindgren has signed for a Swedish club in 2025 so that's not good news for Brum either.

ch958
When is somebody, anybody, going to do something about costs. The riders need to be able to spend less, be paid less and fans pay less admission - this arms race is only going to end one way. Birminghams crowds probably National League (footy) level or worse and their players will be on a fraction of what it costs for someone like Lindgren. Its utter madness.

Certainly won't be the well off handing over their 💰💰 Whilst I admire the owner for pumping money into the club, it is their risk. Going cap in hand to gullible supporters in an attempt to keep the ship afloat is naive to say the least. The bottom line is simply that there is very little interest in the sport in the city and hasn’t been for a number of years. Nobody wants to see any club close, but it’s a business, supply and demand etc. Enthusiasm and passion does not pay bills.
Goneforgood
It wouldn’t surprise me one bit in the least the riders will be reluctant to sign a contract to a club that might not run.

heathen52
When did Birmingham Speedway last make any money, when it was over the road at the old Ladbrokes Stadium or when it was 3rd division with Tony Mole here at Perry Barr?, answer that and you have an answer to Birmingham's future and why it won't be around in 2025, where is the point in throwing more good money after losing money over many years.
