When the points limit is below 42, the first teams announced always look weak, but when more teams get completed you realise maybe they're not so bad after all. Exactly. The 38 limit this year will also ironically result in even more inequality. With all teams likely to go for a 2 pointer whoever gets Cairns will walk the league! Added over 2 points to his av in 2024 and still has improvement. Perhaps his knowledge and season at a certain Southern Track could come into play in the team building for 2025?? A 4.91 GSA taking off the 2.5% Brit discount not bad for a young Brit with potential. Could add another point plus to this in 2025 with Poole as his home track, considering his previous years experience plus riding for Scunthorpe down there in finals/semi's the last 2 seasons. scunny1
Ablitt went downhill after his injury and was never the same rider afterwards. Seemed to not want to get involved and gave up his position far too easily. His record riding against Poole was abysmal as well, so maybe he was already promised a ride down South? scunny1
Luke Harrison and Ace Pijper will be better reserves for us than Ablitt.

Mountain 5. Allen 6. Harrison 7. 2.00 Pointer I think we are going to see more change than that Change will be the top and bottom of it. If the rumours stack up and both Howarth & Ablitt are moving on then it will be. I am not sure where we pick up a new No1/2 though ? Looking at the engine room where we have a difficult decision to make imo Simon Lambert (legend) or Connor Mountain ? For me Lambos legend at Scunny is secure. But is it time for change for himself and the club ? Connors a developing British talent and goes well at the EWR and fairly solid away. Tough as it is I favour Connor at this time of their careers. I will always back Jake especially at Scunny, he has the occasional frustrating meeting but as a No3 rider there are few of his equal in the league. Luke is an absolute shoein and in the 1-5 proper this season without question. Which leaves us looking at the reserves. And heres where we need to gamble imo. I have already mentioned that Zaine & Declan Kennedy might fit the bill. But whoever I think we need to take a punt on a new rider to the Championship at least. Obviously the No 1 & 2 slots need some work. But its clear we need some fire power in Heats 13 & 15 to secure meetings where we fell short last time. Wholesale change is the "top and bottom" of the Scorpions 2025 for me. With Jake, Connor and Luke bringing the continuity.
