Leicester Lions 2025

Recommended Posts

If it is to be a change of strategy, the best outcome would be to bring in someone initially on an assessed average of 8, who is capable of pushing that up to the extent that he is a realistic challenger to Max Fricke as the no 1. It would be a risk, because it could end up like Piotr Pawlicki, or like Magic Janowski who didn't get going until the second half of the season (but who now has a very handy average!!).

But I think that if Leicester are serious about joining the top table in the Premiership (by that I mean capable of winning two playoff ties), a table that Oxford will surely be joining next year, risks of this sort will have to be taken.

Paul Hurry training school

It's good to know that Martin Vaculik can still learn a thing or two from Paul Hurry 😉

The more rumours and speculation happen I still think we will end up with this side :(

I actually think it will be your side now after thinking about it.

Just got a Stewart Dickson vibe to it, UK based 1-7 and just the one change from last years side so it ticks the continuity box as well.

I know the Masters/Douglas rumours doing the rounds but I've got a hard time believing any rider would sign for Birmingham if they had multiple offers/intrest from other clubs.

Birmingham can easily go under at any stage next season and they can easily fall behind in rider payments so I think they'll end up with 6 riders that nobody else wants tbh.

I agree, I heard every rider from last season wanted to return so I'm guessing Stewart thought let's just stick to what we know works here and see if we can make the play offs again. It's not weaker or stronger than last season. Stronger at reserve but weaker with Lawson moving on for Howarth. If Cook can get firing then Howarth is a decent reserve. Stewart has worked with Howarth before and Cookie so it makes sense.

It's a solid side again imo, BV and Sheffield's rumoured 1-7's would be weaker than this years as well so Leicester should be in the mix again if they do get the 1-7 that we've put together recently on a couple of threads.
