Watched the speedway from Aus this morning, Sam Hagon was terrible from the starts, I can only hope he was still jet lagged as he seemed to be gating in a different time zone! His starts will need to be on point if he wants to score any points around Leicester next year.

One factor (as well as adjusting to time/weather, etc.) is that he's probably on borrowed machinery, and struggling to get it set up.

Sam did have a pretty big crash 2 weeks ago @ the South Australian title, maybe feeling the effects still.

Hope so 🤞

It didn't really seem a setup thing, he was just slow dropping the clutch.

You would have thought with the different time zone in Aussie he would actually be dropping the clutch earlier wouldn't you? 🤪

See that Dougy has been injured in Aussie whilst training on moto-x bike.  He’s going to miss the Aussie Championships starting beginning of January and says he needs at least a month out to recover, hopefully he’s back to 100% fitness for the start of the season as wouldn’t want to be starting season with R/R, Guests or sourcing a replacement with slim pickings left out there

You'd think Aussie speedway riders would learn stay off moto cross bikes, never ends well...

Who are you referring to?

Seem to remember at least one Holder getting injured training on a moto cross bike pre season, and although after he retired Lee Adams fateful ride the desert.

I think in general top speedway riders put their fearlessness before moto cross ability.

Australian Speedway title a lot more dangerous than riding mx for fitness, that’s the price ya pay for riding in the off season, more riding 🟰 more chance of an injury I’m afraid and that’s any sport

Put some dirt on the track and the starts wont be so crucial! Lol

He's nowhere near ready for that level i'm afraid but his name opens doors. He might grow into it.

Sadly, also, that was how Tomasz Gollob's career was ended :(

It seemed to cruel that Adams, one of the smoothest and safest riders ever, had that type of injury after his speedway career had literally just finished!

I also remember dear old JL having a crash on a monkey bike at Foxhall a few years back too not quite the same but he was quite seriously injured if i recall it right!

Having watched him in the Phil Crump classic. He shouldn't be anywhere near the top league.

He only managed 1 point and that was against a local guy who didn't scored a point!. The name has got him this far, but It won't last unless he starts scoring points. It was a very strange decision of Dickinson to keep him after last season. One good meeting at Belle Vue other than that, he only scored points when riders fell or broke down!!

Yet he is the 2024 British Under 21 Champion. So should be in the top league.
