That's just the criteria for being allowed on to the list, along with being 23 or under on 1st January.

This year was 40 point limit for 1 to 6 then a rising for each team. RS is anyone under 23 on 1st Jan and an average below 4 the previous season. Yes, I’ve send the 4 point mentioned in the rule book just never seen the 3 point mentioned though it could be an addition

That's the point of the rising star.
The White Knight
I, for one, hope that we can keep the spine of our Team again next year. They certainly are an exciting outfit to watch.
stevebrum
Can see only minimal changes for the Aces next season. Lidsey will probably stay over Cook. Think Lidsey is at his level now so I’d go with Cook personally.
coldace
For me, Lidsey is the better bet for next year. I'm sure that he will improve as his performances at the end of the season suggested. Also, he's two years younger than Ben and as a BV asset, no loan fee to Poole. Ideally, we'd keep them both but looking unlikely.

Lidsey struggled early doors before regaining his form, so he for me is the much better bet on their current averages.

If they raced head to head 10 times, I would currently put Lidsey up by six to four.. Maybe five to five by next years end? And six to four to Cook the year after.. Lidsey showed his capability and experience in the final so it is worth the Aces keeping him for at least one more season..

I'd expect the younger rider to have more improvement in him over the next couple of years.

Me too. I’m not convinced there’s any improvement left in Cook.
arnieg
Many riders don't peak until 30+ these days. Cook added a whole point to his PL average in 2024 ... and a whole point to his CL average in 2024 .. and in Poland averaged more than Lindgren, Doyle, Lidsey, Michelsen and Woffinden (and was a mere 0.01 below Jack Holder) => plenty of scope for further improvement in his British scoring.

That's too simplistic, Doyle didn't become anyone until his 30s. Style & speed is the parameters over age

Well this is it isn’t it, all about opinions. I personally don’t read anything in to averages attained elsewhere when it comes to UK racing. Doyle is immense here, less so in Poland. He’s done very well this year don’t get me wrong, but because of that I don’t see anymore improvement in him. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised to see his average drop this year at Lynn with the pressures of riding in a heatleader berth. Maybe my opinion of him is blinkered slightly because he’s always looked abysmal when he’s come to Ipswich. Not an easy track for some riders granted. You’d have to think Mark Lemon doesn’t think there’s much improvement in him either otherwise he’d have made more effort to keep him. Someone has to go sure, but there were other options.
