Artem has not said much about him being in the series. Interview was about top riders in the Polish Extraliga as far as their CMA were concerned. Artem holds the top spot in the CMA recokonigs an Bartek hold the top spot as far as the world titles are concerned. Marek Cieslak said that personally he regrets that Artem is not in the GP series, and Artem remarked : so do I. 1

If they are now to be considered "Polish" then it is up the PZM to nominate them to contest the GPs -- presumably through next season's GP Challenge system. But obviously, there is a restriction on the nominations from any one governing body. That will mean they take the place of two "real Poles" in the system, which might not go down too well with the Polish public, who don't generally like Russia as a neighbour, and would feel aggrieved if (say) Magic and Dudek were dropped by the PZM to allow Emil and Laguta into the qualifiers...... Another route would be via the European Championship, albeit that only one could win it, and enter the GPs that way. But again, FIM Europe (a different organisation from the FIM in many ways) will have restrictions of their own....... In short, I don't see either of the Russians getting back into the GP system in the forseeable future. Unless the war is ended, of course. Over to you, Mr Putin! Nice one ! JoeW436
Before booking flights what are the prospects of getting tickets to the GP’s at Wrocław and Riga?
LagutaRacingFan
Poland are demanding that next year's wild-card slot is replaced by a permanent Polish rider. The FIM are in big trouble if they don't accept this. Poland are threatening to take the Warsaw GP off the calendar. The PZM are not messing about. Riga tickets are no trouble at all. Wroclaw tickets, for the main stand, sell very quickly (days, not hours). The back-straight take a bit longer and the standing tickets (corners) are last to go. But don't hang about. It's a lovely city, great stadium and you'll hopefully see a cracking meeting. Enjoy. 1

TigerIain
On 10/1/2024 at 12:58 PM, LagutaRacingFan said: Boris Johnson was born in America, would you say he was American or British? Artem is Polish. He has been nominated for the award of best Polish rider in the Ekstraliga. Boris previously said that he was American by accident of birth (his mother was on holiday there when he was born). He had dual nationality. However Boris went through a process the Americans have where he formally renounced his American nationality. He therefore is legally British, and not American. It's a non reversible process, so if he wanted to behind an American citizen again he would have to go through the same process as any other Brit. So he is in a different situation. TigerIain
Michelsen and Doyle were obvious choices given how their season was going pre injury. Were Huckenbeck and Kvech given the other 2 as a second chance to reach the top 6 because they have only been in for 1 year? It's not unheard of for that to happen. Certainly Madsen was unlucky to miss out. As for the Poles, with Artem and Emil on Polish licences but not being put forward. You then have the next best 3 Poles as Janowski, Dudek and Kolodziej who have all had previous wild cards and have all at times seriously under performed, so I would expect all 3 are only getting back in the hard way. With 2 Poles in the series and the next best 5 discounted you are then talking about giving a wild card to the 8th best Pole (Ignoring the Polish/ Russian debate) as opposed to the top rider from another country. Huckenbeck, Kvech and Woźniak all finished on similar-ish points totals. Add in that Woźniak had a terrible second half to the 2024 series (9 points over the last 5 rounds) and picking Huckenbeck and Kvech is more understandable

Some fans won't pay to watch 2 gps, I think this will be the last Cardiff GP. Well I can't say I am surprised, leaving Cardiff superficially on the calendar was probably to gain sponsorship, it was always their intention to cancel it.
