I still haven't seen any answers to the questions regarding Laguta & Emil being allowed to represent Poland in the SGP series?

Both have Polish citizenship. Same as Rune Holta when he switched from Norway to Poland and represented Poland in the world cups and Grand Prix series. What is the difference here?

Whilst Rune was indeed riding under a Polish licence and rode for them in the WTC, he was also conscious that he would have been unlikely to be nominated for a Wild Card as a Pole and was aware that he needed to be a top 8 rider to qualify for the next year's series. Can recall him saying that on one or more occasions in interviews.

For me, the top six go through to next year, the next 8 go through to the GP challenge, with the 15th being "relegated"...

That 8 race against 8 qualifiers and the top 8 qualify...

With the SEC Champ getting the last place..

If I remember correctly, the system used to be something like this but it was ended to stop Andy Smith qualifying every year!

Of course it's woke, Picking riders based on Nationality rather than picking the best riders available.

All about diveristy in having as many Nationalities compete as possible.

Whatever ‘woke’ means. A word now used when people disagree with an outcome. It’s lazy.

It’s nothing to do with diversity. You think the fact that Kai Huckenback and Jan Kvech are German and Czech respectively and there are Grands Prix in those nations is merely a coincidence?

They could have been wildcards...

They can be wildcards for one Round only.

Doesn't mean they have to be given permanent spots every year over riders who are more worthy.

I didn’t say it does. I’m challenging your assertion that it’s ‘woke’ and a ‘diversity box ticking’ exercise though.

The proof is in the pudding though.

It's not. They're in because there are GPs in Germany and Czechia. That's neither woke nor anything to do with diversity. It's a questionable business decision, nothing more.

Yes - basically capitalism in operation, about the least woke thing you could imagine

There are a few things beyond the obvious keeping the Russians sidelined.

If they are now to be considered "Polish" then it is up the PZM to nominate them to contest the GPs -- presumably through next season's GP Challenge system.        But obviously, there is a restriction on the nominations from any one governing body.    That will mean they take the place of two "real Poles" in the system, which might not go down too well with the Polish public, who don't generally like Russia as a neighbour, and would feel aggrieved if (say) Magic and Dudek were dropped by the PZM to allow Emil and Laguta into the qualifiers......

Another route would be via the European Championship, albeit that only one could win it, and enter the GPs that way.

But again, FIM Europe (a different organisation from the FIM in many ways) will have restrictions of their own.......

In short, I don't see either of the Russians getting back into the GP system in the forseeable future.  Unless the war is ended, of course.

Over to you, Mr Putin!

You start with "If"

In the eyes of the FIM they will not be considered Polish or PZM until MFR says they good to go. Poland has given them citizenship, PZM has given them licenses to ride as Polish in the Polish system. Has bugger all to do with FIM or FIM Europe meetings where they are still MFR.

Could you clarify who or what MFR is.
thanks.

As Phil Morris would call it, "Commercial Considerations", which also accounts for the axeing of Madsen, who nonetheless may be better to begin self-indentifying as a Wolf or a Snow Leopard as a career move
