Pinny
Huckenbeck's inclusion is an absolute farce in all honesty and reminds you of wild card picks of years gone by when Harris or Nicholls regularly got given them due to their nationality. Why not give it to Wolbert if it has to be a German, Huckenbeck had a chance last year and didn't get close to the top 6. If they have to have a German, give it to someone else. Wolbert put in a decent enough showing at the GP challenge!
LagutaRacingFan
The PZM should set-up their own GP series, consisting of the top 16 riders in the Polish Ekstraliga averages.

Rumours of a deal struck between them, PZM and FIM which allows them to ride in the Ekstraliga means they have agreed not to be in the GPs Two of the four - Doyle and Michelsen- are correct in my view for the reasons others have said. Likewise, Madsen’s exclusion due to his no show at the SON and his disagreement with the logistics company seems fair. The other 2? This should be the top 15 riders in the world and be unrelated to political considerations. Having two riders who failed in the GP series and failed in the GP challenge shoe horned in because of their nationality is just wrong. Whatever you think of Poland and Polish speedway, not including a third Pole could - and maybe should - come back and bite WBD/FIM on the arse. And justifying Kvech’s inclusion because he’s CZ champion but not even including the Polish champion as a substitute is just plain wrong. In my view. Can't disagree with anything you've said. Although I'm not bothered about them only having 2 Poles, as long as the alternatives were better riders than Janowski / Dudek / Kolodziej, which they clearly aren't. Their explanation of why Kvech was included was pretty embarrassing to say the least.
KIRKYLANE
Having announced the 4 wildcards, they have got it spot on as far as I am concerned. it is great to have 2 Belle Vue riders in the SGP

Czechs "We will host a GP next year and pay £XXX but only if we can have two Czechs in it, else bog off." That's something which I definitely think is part of it. It's never been about the best riders. Same in many individual sports where countries have places rather than the best entrants. Then they should say that, that gives the likes of madsen chance to get a Czech licence, if they are going to play the stupid rule game then the riders should play it too
r8gdp
If I was Madsen I would have told them to do one and not bothered with the gps. Here’s hoping they get a gp in Spain so they can give the local delivery lad a place in the series. They have devalued the whole series.

Fromafar
Love him or Hate him Madsen is definitely a Top 15 rider, injustice he didn’t get picked in front of a couple of these wild cards.
Hamish McRaker
Does this mean that Lebedevs is not included? Haven't seen him mentioned. I'm in favour of giving new GP riders a two-year contract, with the provision that after year 1 they can be "terminated early" if they have badly underperformed. Under this arrangement, Lebedevs, Kvech and Huckenbeck would have been retained for a second year, and Wozniak eliminated.

Another tainted victory for Zmarzlik next year.......Seriously Huckenbeck and Kvech lol, What have they done in this years GP series to justify those picks?

JoeW436
You stick Emil & Artem back into the series and what you get realistically at best is a 3 horse race for the world title (3 may even be a stretch but you know you definitely have a 2 horse race with Artem because he’s done it before) so now we have another year of a complete non event world championship. It’s the equivalent of taking Arsenal & Liverpool out of the premier league this season. Are we really at a point where riders that are 44th in the PGEE averages and 10th in M2E averages are getting wildcard picks for a world championship?
TTT
Here is where some excluded riders rank in the 2024 Ekstraliga averages whilst the woke selectors try and fog us all off with a best 15 riders in the World slogan in regards to the 2025 GP series. 1. Laguta 2. Madsen 5. Kolodziej 6. Sayfutdinov Zmarzlik's victories are now tainted and he's not a legit World Champion until he gets legit competition imo (Those who are just as statistically good as him in the Ekstraliga) It's like winning a Champions League that doesn't feature Manchester City, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. Bojangles
Here's a novel idea. If they want to pick the likes of Kvech and Huckenbeck (which is ridiculous by the way) as they have GPs in those countries, why not have only 14 permanent riders and have 2 wild cards at each GP? It means every venue is guaranteed to have two riders, and then there would be at least one extra space for a sensible regular wildcard pick.
