I understand the overheads but....I rest my case,we for one won't be attending this season because of rising costs elsewhere. As I have said elsewhere for a family sport that they keep on about I feel is getting expensive now. A average family of mum and dad plus 2 kids over 11 and your admission is £60 add to that programmes, parking and a bit of food plus petrol and your talking of around £100 for a family night out. To date they have not announced how much programmes will be next season or how much the stadium will charge for car parking. Also judging by the way stadium security were checking bags at the end of last season I can see drinks and snacks not being allowed to be taken into the stadium I can see a lot of people thinking is the 2025 season affordable or maybe picking and choosing there meetings. The best thing is you can be sure that if the crowd numbers fall and we end up back in the championship (or worse) in 2026 it will be all OUR fault for not supporting the club. 1

Rob Lyon has already mentioned Lawson is likely to start at two.

Totally agree tony, that's why, after discussing with the missus,we no longer feel that what we have to fork out, warrants the outlay especially with rising costs elsewhere and income barely rising to compensate this.its a sad state of affairs but after following the tigers since I was 15,the time has come to say enough is enough, which is a bit sad but a nessecity.
Manifesto
It’s obviously a very similar line up to last year which did work for the most part. Rowe v Howarth id pick Rowe, improving and looks so much smoother than Kyle on a bike. Hume v Gilkes id pick Gilkes purely on fact there is a chance he could improve but likely to score very similar next year. Flint v Edwards I couldn’t choose one over the other both prefer smaller tracks, Edwards could pop up with a heat 2 win but never really got in the mix most weeks. Flint has put himself out there in Poland and with team Gb I think he could step it up a gear or two given the right equipment and confidence in a winning team

Not many No6's are of the level to beat any of the top three (or even four) riders in their own or their oppositions team given their level, and the level of the opponent.. Maybe in the Championship it could happen given the much lower standard of HL's... Teams with a "strength in depth" plan may get some joy from having a "decent" reserve, but up against the top fours of BV, Ipswich and Sheffield (as not many races won't have at least one of them in), having a reserve performance to beat them will be an exception rather than a rule in today's top league I would say.. The amount of times Ipswich’s reserves out scored the away teams reserves by a significant amount last season I’d say points throughout the team win matches

Agree that Howarth better Owlerton than Rowe. Will take Rowe quite a few meetings to get to grips with the different lines and see if he has what it takes to ride it up high especially coming off bend 2. Gilkes good if gates, awful if not continues to ride the one line he knows especially at home, no loss in my eyes. Flint is the one that has to turn up and finally show he’s not just another who talks the talk
LagutaRacingFan
Why are on earth are they not allowing drinks and snacks? I would understand if there was a policy to stop alcohol being brought in, but soft drinks and food should be allowed. When I used to go to the Showground, me and my girlfriend used to visit Marks and Spencer. We used to buy ready to eat king prawns and M&S triple chocolate cookies.

Checked my bag all season and I was never stopped from bringing food or drink in and it's been something that's happened at all stadiums now. A pretty poor presumption from yourself. If he signed at 6 for Sheffield, then that opportunity would be gone. If he has a good season then bound to get an RS spot in 2026 you'd think? Cue Ball
One of my concerns with the team is which Picko turns up - the one from the last month of the season who was absolutely on fire, or the one from the first few months of the season who seemed to be struggling

Question is after his injury will he be one of those deemed ‘not good enough’!! From what I saw of Gilkes last year I wasn’t so impressed - pleased for Hume nice guy and maybe he deserved another crack - he will try hard but yes some points may get lost through falls! Mind you when I saw him at Ipswich in 22 and 23 I get the feeling track didn’t always suit his riding style - Owlerton is probably better suited to him! Foxhall was his biggest strength. He was generally poor everywhere away but at Foxhall he could often be a match winner. Took some huge scalps beating the leagues best riders on occasions. In 22 averaged comfortably more at home than Barker, Starke and Anders Rowe, and in 23’ averaged more at home than Rew, Dan Thompson and Riss. He was better for sure in 23 but in 22 he often looked quite unsteady on the bends in my view his average could have been quite a bit higher too if he hadn’t lost so many pts - on his day tho he was a good effective reserve reckon he can do well Edited 4 hours ago by GeneralMelchett

Up until August there was nothing average wise between Pickering and Howarth, so shows there was a massive increase in form just needs that to be the standard now
