Sheffield Tigers 2025:

1. Jack Holder

2. Anders Rowe

3. Chris Holder

4. Josh Pickering (C)

5. Tai Woffinden

6. Dan Gilkes

7. Leon Flint

Top 4 need to get 40+ points each week be it home or away to have any chance, so weak at 2 and 6, basically riding with 3 reserves 🙈😳

I agree. It’s a huge risk! Although saying that Anders Rowe is really going places next season.

Flint never been great around owlerton but think he will be better than Edwards come mid season. Have every faith Rowe would be an improvement on Howarth too

Not trashing the team here as I think it's a decent 1-7 but not a great one despite the power trio still being involved.

Does anyone else think rider influence has played a part here? as well as Steady playing favourites because I don't think Sheffield would take such a risk by having half a teams worth of 2024 rising stars in the side.

Something like the Holder's not wanting to be split up to a point where it's both of them or none at all as well as Steady not wanting to cut ties with Team GB's Woffinden.

Hope I'm proved wrong, but I feel Leon is a poor fit for Sheffield. Never seemed to have gone particularly well round Owlerton and haven't seen much improvement in last few years.

Feels a bit of a make or break season for the lad, and hopefully we'll see some improvement and reap the rewards of his previous expirence.

I don’t think the Holders would say something like that they’d both still be living in Dorset together. IF the rumoured 7 is correct, I think the management and Steady have recognised the risk but also the reward of having the strongest top 4 in the league. Huge pressure on the 3 young Brit’s but one of them if not 2 will need to step up and support them

Is it the strongest top 4….. Doyle Emil Brennan and Ellis similar

Rew will do better than Rowe

Dan T and Jenkins are better than Gilkes and Flint

It’s an ok Sheffield side and will make the play offs but doesn’t look like a championship winning one …..

Then again anything can happen in speedway

If that is the Sheffield team I think it’s there to be got at. I don’t think anybody expected Chris Holder to do quite as well as he has. He was undoubtedly on a downward curve in his career but seems to have had an Indian summer and sparked back in to life. For that reason I personally think he’s more than maxed out his average and it looks a tad expensive to me. To a lesser extent, I think Woffinden also done a little better than expected. I think both their averages will drop off slightly, add that to a long tail and I don’t think it’s quite there to be winning anything.

Flint still waiting for breakthrough season. Will need better equipment and someone to sort out setup issues he seems to struggle with IMO

Emil is better than Jack, Tai and Doyle both good home and away coming back from injuries.. Chris better than Brennan and Picko is better than Ellis by some distance.. in my opinion.

Rew like Rowe does well at reserve both have potential to step it up. Dan T is far the best young Brit from both teams. Gilkes and Flint need to find some consistency in the premiership. Jenkins will probably be a big asset to the witches in heats 2 and 8

Flint has had at least three make or break seasons now and gone nowhere.

Granted but he is still young enough to turn it round. I think we're more at the stage now as to whether he's going to really kick on or stick at what he is.

I've always been impressed by his professionalism and the way he's keen to represent GB and to ride on the continent. Lads got potential and for a rider as young as he is has bags of expirence, He just needs to put it all together and show what he can do.

I think we'll find out really early on whether it's a good move for both parties. But hopefully he can listen and learn from the boys and steady, maybe even pick up some wise word from his mentor Ricky Ashworth- he certainly knew the quickest way round owlerton!

What do you want a medal? This is all a bit daft isn’t it? Why stop at top 4? Ipswich have a stronger top 2, Sheffield have a stronger top 3, and a stronger top 4, Ipswich will possibly/probably have a stronger top 5 and the one that really matters, I think Ipswich will definitely have a stronger top 7!

Ask your mate Gavan, he’s the one who sparked the debate!
