Well news this morning is that you won't be watching speedway on Europsoort in 2025 - At the moment i am refuse to pay £30.99 for the TNT sports - I will wait and see on where speedway will be before making a decision.

Thank you for being a discovery+ subscriber.

On 28 February 2025, the Eurosport and TNT Sports brands will be brought together, with all sports content available in one single destination via TNT Sports. This in turn means the discovery+ Standard plan & Eurosport linear channels are closing.

What about my subscription?

On your next renewal date on or after today, the price of your plan will decrease to the price of the Basic plan at £3.99/month. From 28 February, Sports content, including Eurosport 1 & 2, will no longer be included in your plan. From your next renewal on or after 28 February, you will continue to renew on the Basic plan unless you cancel in your account before that renewal.

If your plan was previously ad-free in on-demand content, on-demand content in the Basic plan contains ads.

To continue to access sports content, you can either upgrade your plan to the Premium (incl. TNT Sports) plan before 28 February 2025, or resubscribe to Premium after this date. If you are a direct customer you can upgrade via your account settings. If you are an app store

Scott Young, content, production and business operations, WBD Sports Europe.

Young continued: “TNT Sports will also continue to bring more content to fans on Warner Bros Discovery’s free-to-air channel Quest. In 2025, this will include broadcasting every MotoGP Sprint race, adding to existing live Bennetts British Superbikes coverage, a brand-new weekly cycling show covering all key moments of the season, highlights of the Giro d’Italia and La Vuelta a Espana, plus premiere a range of new sports documentaries.”

While Speedway, obviously, doesn't seem to get a mention anywhere (he probably doesn't even know he's got it), hopefully it's comparable to the BSB and it'll get shown on Quest.

Speedway needs to get back to Sky, tout suite and as soon as the Premiership CEO gets back from Australia he needs to be knocking on their door showcasing the improvements he's made to the TV image.

Not sure what it means for the SGP, just another nail in the coffin for it in this country, can't see that going to Sky or any other broadcaster while WBD are balls deep in it.

Time to look into getting one of those "special" firesticks

They'll definitely be on TV it's just a matter of where, how much it will cost and how easy it will be to get. Pre WBD it used to be free to air in uncontracted territories, not sure if that's still the case these days as WBD seem to have global reach. An increase of £6.99 a month (£3.99 if you managed to get a deal, I did) to £30.99 a month seems a bit steep!

I guess BSN for domestic which seems reasonable value and one of the overseas streaming channels for GPs as long as you are not too bothered about which language the commentary is. As a few know, GPs can be seen for free on certain overseas based on-line providers.

I found £7 very decent value - I ditched both BT Sport and Sky in lockdown as I found the prices of the entire package was just too high, it also irritated me that football was being scattered across various services meaning a huge outlay if you wanted them all - SKY BT Sport and Premier TV (which you could get Polish and Swedish Speedway on) the list was getting too long. I was paying close to £200 per month for everything - broadband Sky full package Bt Sport etc etc.

So i disaggregated everything and cut out sky, bt sport etc entirely - and just subscribed to Discovery for the GPS, SWC and league in the UK.

The one benefit to steaming services is you have much more control and power to cancel the subscription, it took me several goes to cancel sky and BT sport - i think they deliberatly make it so so you give up trying to cancel. I may well subscribe for the season for £31 per month and then cancel out of season but lets see where speedway pops up first.

I've had Discovery+ Premium for a while through my £30 a month EE sim only contract, which includes the current Eurosport channels and TNT sports.

Just had a look and you can sign up today for a new unlimited data and free roaming SIM contract for £29 a month.

Includes Discovery+ Premium and TNT. Always found this a great way to combine phone+TV

It will be interesting to see now that British league racing is moving to TNT whether production standards and budgets are done to TNT standards it would be good to have more cameras and possibly UHD coverage

This move with Eurosport has been on the cards for two years and I did previously post this would be happening I would wait and see what offers come out as I understand there may be some offers for Sky Sports customers in the near future

But who is now going to take on the mantle of just switching programme channels at the drop of a hat, completely screwing up your recording of it?

Or joining a meeting 3 heats in because the tennis over ran?

Or even not showing the speedway meeting at all live but putting it on later, (when the Kabaddi has finished)...

Add to this who are now going to consistently show the wrong captions for riders, teams, tac subs, scores, rising stars etc?

Big shoes to fill...

Those in charge of the sport in this country have over the years squandered the TV opportunities to promote the sport and wasted the income yet given no thought to to the fact that they need to promote the sport to a wider audience and that is a bit like the track attendance, take it or leave it with no thought for the punters. Thankfully some capitulation with BSN who do a fine job and deserve the support of the speedway followers but that in itself does not get the message across to the wider audience of casual viewers who might come across the sport when flicking through the t v Chanels. It does need a main stream terrestrial broadcaster but alas those days have long gone unless someone can convince ITV4 to show at the very least, highlights. That would get it in the published t v listings etc but putting it on Quest is not good enough.

Just an idea, if it doesnt cause conflict with the current tv deal is to get BSN and the various tracks own streaming services to compile a 50 minute or so weekly show. Hawk it around the terrestial channels and see if anyone bites. I've said 50 minutes as this would allow time for advert breaks to fit an hour slot.
