Add in the Spring Cup and Scottish Cup fixtures, you were spoiled for fixtures. You’re spot on regarding Bentley. He was particularly outstanding for Hull, if my memory serves me correctly. However, he wasn’t quite as potent in 2004 and 2005 marked his final year in the sport. I think back in 1999 you had the Premier Trophy matches and challenges before the league started and I am sure Bentley at Glasgow averaged around 11 from the opening 5/6 meetings but could be wrong. It was very rare to have a week without a meeting at home back then - early March right up until the end of October. You had the 4tt qualis then as well. Could never understand why they scrapped them, they were a brilliant idea and ensured that the teams that qualified got there by right.
snapper
Banger was around an 11 pt ave and then he broke his ankle and I think we signed Les Collins then let Mick Powell go when Paul Bentley came back

Powell came to Berwick in 99 for the back end and I thought he did well. Got Bentley in 2000 but he was overshadowed by Moggo that year. I remember Moggo in 2000 guesting for Ben Howe at Swindon and getting a flawless 18 point max , went to Swindon the next season and dropped off a fair bit. Yeah not sure what happened at Swindon pretty sure he ended up at Number 4 for them. Did pretty well for Stoke but never reclaimed the form he had in 2000. SharpenRake
It's nice to read fans from other teams reminiscing about the good old days. Just to bring everyone up-to-date with Glasgow 2025, the team won the 1st leg of the Scottish Cup at Edinburgh on Friday, our nominated pair finished third in the Championship Pairs at Workington on Saturday and Chris and Kyle finished 1st and 2nd in the CRC at Scunthorpe today. Not a bad start for the class of 2025.
4BenMoran
Glasgow have definitely got Kyle Howarth on a bargain average, can see him adding at least a point to his season starting one

TheWellBehavedWorrall
Agreed; Howarth had a fantastic weekend, but it’ll interesting to see how he responds to missing the gate over the course of the season. When out-gated in heat ten at Armadale on Friday night and in the semi-final at Workington on Saturday, he didn’t come close to challenging either opposing rider. A small criticism in an otherwise fantastic debut weekend.
