Hi Marksman, Sorry to say each reserve has to score points, we wont win the league if both reserves only score , 1 or 2 points between them at Home.We cannot have riders not scoring, we have had this is the past and totally failed to win the league. We cannot have passengers in this team if we are going to win it.

The make up of the side is very similar to the early 00s when the top 5 was Shane, Geo Stancl, greavesy, banga Bentley and a coming out of retirement Graeme Jones. The average age was pushing 40 by that point and unlikely to see any improvement. Dan T, Leon and boughen should be open to improvement, as I believe howarth is without the pressure of being no.1.

The reserves back then were a couple journeymen in Corey Blackman and Barry Campbell, again unlikely to improve. Perry and in particular hodder should improve, especially with bomber mentoring them. It's only 1 meeting but his match against Oxford was very promising. And if either isn't scoring then you do what Poole did and give best performing NDL rider a chance.

Dont think the reserves will fail to score enough points at home given the standard of most other reserves.

I expect you’ll see a different Freddy Hodder to the one that Berwick persevered with last season, he seems to have plenty talent just didn’t have the confidence last season unfortunately.

Glasgow fans should be expecting to come away from this season with at least one trophy, anything less would be a disappointment given the team they’ve assembled.

Edinburgh were probably the last team to win the league based on a string top 5 & weak reserves in 2015. So it can be done, but Clegg & Branford were both 3.5 riders (minimum 3.00 aves then) can Glasgow's reserves approach those figures? If they can would put Glasgow as title favourites.

I still don't understand how that team finished so low down in the table.

A different Freddy and Max this season.

As I recall Bentley and Greaves spent most of their time blocking each other and the TM (later named the speedway mourinho) never split them up as a pairing

Didn’t Jones also take a fairly hefty knock and as the 5th average member of the team it meant an r/r facility that weakened the team significantly for a bit then the ill feted Eric Carillo deal

That Glasgow side was never going to do well due to a weak bottom 3.

Wasnt Carillo a half decent replacement for Jones though?

Jonah started well. Think we won pretty easy at hull start of the season and they went on to win the league unless I'm mixed up. Was a big kick up with carillo we got him on a 3 I think, not sure he even maintained that.

Anyway, I this side has more potential than that one imo

Time makes the heart grow fonder with that 2004 Tigers’ side. I remember it well.

An incredible showing in the group stage of the Premier Trophy was sandwiched between an aggregate loss to Edinburgh in the Spring Trophy and a disappointing league campaign.

I particularly remember our hard work in the Premier Trophy went to waste as an all-matching-race-suits Reading took us apart in the semi-final.

Jones started well, but chucked it due to mechanical issues (ironic as an engine tuner) and his replacement - Lee Dicken - struggled. Stancl’s inconsistent form away from home was a problem, Paul Bentley - who had topped the averages in recent years - wore number four and rode like a number four - while the reserves, as highlighted, were dreadful. Barry Campbell and Corey Blackman were two journeymen; we got what we paid for.

Carillo was an improvement, but not enough to salvage what turned out to be a disappointing season.

I vividly remember Carillo arriving mid-way through the meeting at Shielfield Park due to traffic. It was Ian Steel’s last meeting as Tigers’ manager.
