Jaizer
I can't see why have gone for Max Perry personally, didn't show anything last season that was champ ready albeit coming back from a terrible injury. I'm never a fan of 2 2 pointers at reserve as a good reserve can turn a meeting. but 4 out of top 5 imo are capable of improving their averages and should be capable of winning meetings on their own. Definitely more positive than last season if this is the side with 3 of the top British talents should be entertaining to watch at least. He's clearly a very promising rider and probably riding Sheffield rather than Birmingham in the PL will do him all the world of good, with all due respect to Birmingham. He is the highest averaging RS for a reason. 1. Chris Harris 2. Leon Flint 3. Ashton Boughen 4. Kyle Howarth 5. Dan Thompson 6. Max Perry 7. Freddy Hodder Ride like that for the first few months and if he excels and gets his confidence up swap him to 3, if not he's always going to do a good job at number 2. Same applies for Kyle and Dan, depends on who's performing the best is who rides at 5 and who rides at 4. It's a very flexible team. Reserves suck though. I'll have to disagree with the idea behind this comment "you could easily set it up so Leon had an easier role" Flint has a 6.85 average, which is 3rd heat leader standard in the current Championship era, if I felt I had to set up the riding order to give a "3rd heat leader" an easier ride then I'd have to question why he's in the team. I'd suggest, it should be Boughen who gets the easier role, a 17 year old in only his second full year in the Champ.

Personally I'd put the weakest top 5 rider at 2. I do sometimes wonder why clubs don't switch around the riding order more often depending on their opponents or with track specialists away from home etc. Edited 6 hours ago by szkocjasid

I think any youngsters coming to Glasgow has a good chance to greatly improve, with the 2 tracks big and small and unrestricted track time they would have a great chance to really develop.

I don’t care if you end the season with average of beyond ten; if you start the season in the main body of the team, but find yourself relegated to the reserve berth, it hasn’t been a great season. The relegation to reserve came with the inevitable improvement in scores because he should be riding in heat two. He ended up at reserve because we signed a clown on a 6.00 average. Absolutely nothing to do with James. He also spent a fair amount of time riding at 4, also nothing to do with him.

I'm not disagreeing, I'd say Boughen does sound like a weak number 3, just pointing out that other clubs may also have weaker number 3s too. To be fair there's not many 2 pointers who i'd expect to excell next season (apart from Cairns). Think they all may end up a similar standard. I'd say Jody Scott & Max James are two of the more promising ones, but there's not a lot in it. Hard to say if there's better options than Perry when you don't know who else has signed up 2 point reserves. Glasgow will likely miss a high scoring reserve, but their top 5 could almost do enough on their own.
