szkocjasid
Good news for Glasgow getting an U21 qualifier, especially for those fans who say the fixture list is too empty (about 95% of fans tbh)

With all due respect, to compete for trophies, you rely on one or two big improvements and in 2024, Glasgow were likely looking at Flint and Pearson for that. Sadly, they didn’t and Flint’s final centre green interview highlighted that even he would be surprised by a return. Having said that, if he’s wearing a red and white race suit in April, he’ll have my backing. You are doing Pearson a disservice.

I appreciate where you’re coming from and Pearson’s impressive average at Ashfield didn’t go unnoticed, but I believe the famous quote of ”There are three kinds of lies; lies, damned lies and statistics” is very much applicable. I don’t care if you end the season with average of beyond ten; if you start the season in the main body of the team, but find yourself relegated to the reserve berth, it hasn’t been a great season. The relegation to reserve came with the inevitable improvement in scores because he should be riding in heat two.

I'm 50/50 on Flint, I'm fine if he's on the team especially if the team is built where he can ride at 3 or 4 but I'd also be completely fine if he isn't back. He showed improvement but only really near the end of the season and his consistency wasn't always the greatest.
Diamonds85
If the above rumoured team is true you could easily set it up so Leon had an easier role. He's clearly a very promising rider and probably riding Sheffield rather than Birmingham in the PL will do him all the world of good, with all due respect to Birmingham. He is the highest averaging RS for a reason. 1. Chris Harris 2. Leon Flint 3. Ashton Boughen 4. Kyle Howarth 5. Dan Thompson 6. Max Perry 7. Freddy Hodder Ride like that for the first few months and if he excels and gets his confidence up swap him to 3, if not he's always going to do a good job at number 2. Same applies for Kyle and Dan, depends on who's performing the best is who rides at 5 and who rides at 4. It's a very flexible team. Reserves suck though. Think him and Bomber would ride too similar lines at home to be productive together

James was a very skilful and fast young rider around Ashfield, everyone who visited Ashfield could see that. He beat a lot of good riders in his first season with the club. He probably had only visited most away tracks twice at the most before joining the Tigers, so his away form wasn'ta complete surprise. To me he was a success and I'm really disappointed that he's not in next year's team.

As much as it pains me to say this, if the rumoured lineups elsewhere are close to true I would fancy that Glasgow team as comfortable favourites to make the play offs and challenge for silverware.

My trading if good from the BSPA website is that it was James' choice not to be back (well sort of, his Polish commitments rule him out as he "can't make it work" with a Friday track) https://britishspeedway.co.uk/cab-direct-championship/pearson-on-the-move/
