szkocjasid
It's a really good top end. Harris is awesome, Dan T always improving, Howarth should do far better if moving to 3, which means Flint is a second string. Boughen is very inconsistent, which is to be expected from a 17 year old, but obviously has the most potential of any young Brit alongside Cairns. Which is where the league will be won or lost imo. If Glasgow drop their weakest reserve for Cairns, they should win the league, I'd say the same for Poole, Workington etc. I do think Glasgow are weak at reserve, but the top 5 may be able to cover for them. mac101
Until teams announce their full 1-7 how can anybody say a team is weak at reserve

But, for some strange reason, teams don't seem to do that and just keep the same 1-7 in their riding positions home and away. No team can have riders with averages of less than 2.00 so by definition this pair must be among the lowest / weakest in the league. Bear in mind neither actually achieved 2.00 and they were particularly weak away from home.

Agree with everything @Beirao said, 2 riders who didn't meet the minimum 2.00 averages can only be described as a weak pairing. Even if every team had 2 x 2.00 riders I'd say they were all equally weak. Good luck to the reserves, always good to see Brits getting team places & hopefully they'll improve.
Noelinho
McGurk, James, Garrad are the only three other riders with 2.00 averages for next season who rode in 2024, so yes, they are relatively weak. That said, they have experience, which might counterbalance to some extent.

Jaizer
So it was Pearson ditched Glasgow not the other way round given polish commitments. Fair play to him that's where the money is. I assume he'll be at Oxford or Poole given says can't make Friday tracks work?

Poole not his best track imo. 6 from 5 at reserve, so can't see Poole using up 5.51 on him.

But I take your point seems a stretch to think Poole won't have better options. Oxford or not doing championship would seem the options

TheWellBehavedWorrall
I liked Pearson, but he’s no loss. Any rider who falls from the first team to reserve at the expense of - with all due respect - Jack Smith, can’t look back too fondly on the season. If we sign Ashton Boughen, I’ll passionately throw my fist in the air in celebration. Even if I’m at a funeral. 1

Possibly it certainly isn't Glasgow , you are correct it doesn't count for much.
