The ONLY thing you have to cling to here, is Ipswich’ poor record at your track. You have to think that won’t be the case forever. At some point they’re going to suss it out. Did you not notice the gap at the top of the table between Ipswich and Belle Vue at the time Sayfutdinov crashed at Sheffield? The gap in theory should also be bigger next year. You’ve swapped Ben Cook for his inferior brother, Ipswich have swapped Rew for Tom Brennan!

Doyle is a racer and a hard charger so has a few spills here and there. But in all the years he’s ridden in the UK, how many of those have resulted in a season ending long term injury like this one? None I would of thought but he is at an age where crashes take their toll and probably why he hasnt ridden since. I think he probably feels he owes Ipswich a title and most likely this is their year. AceBelle
9 hours ago, szkocjasid said: These riders won't all be in the Aces team though, if Belle Vue have Bewley / Kurtz / Lidsey as heat leaders, they can't have Cook as a second string, unless there's no Blodorn. As a neutral, Doyle & Sayfutdinov best top 2 and I fancy the Witches as having stronger second strings. Also Witches have the better RS, even if Cairns signs. I expect Belle Vue to make the top 4, but Witches to top the qualifiers fairly easily. But over 2 legs in the play-offs anything can happen. It's zach Cook I'm referring to not Ben

Take your point to a degree, the body naturally takes longer to heal as you get older but in the nicest possible way, Doyle is a bit of a freak when it comes to fitness. His fitness routine through the winter is insane. There was a piece done on Anglia TV last year showing all the high tech equipment in his gym and the personal trainer he has with him. He doesn’t have an ounce of body fat on him which is why I think he has more longevity than most. I don’t think this particular crash and the length of time it has taken is due to age. It was awful and done a lot of damage. Bit of a shame the few meetings he planned to do in Australia this winter are not now happening. Hopefully he gets a warm up meeting or two in over here before the season starts. Don’t care how experienced you are, over 10 months out is a long time without racing. 89buttons
1 hour ago, Steve Irving said: It’s more the “hope” they get injured rather than thinking they will because they know their club has no chance without it. “Nobody likes to see riders get injured” will be a quick reply on here, lol bullish!t. It’s like the crocodile tears of posters coming on here when Doyle, and then Emil crashed, all sharing their caring sympathies whilst secretly fist pumping behind their keyboards because the team that was running away with it were suddenly out of the picture!! Let’s not pretend otherwise. You also have to laugh at those desperately analysing this Ipswich team with a magnifying glass trying in vain to find a chink somewhere in an obviously ridiculously good side because they want to believe their team will be just as good. As a speedway fan I don’t want to see any rider of any team get hurt. I think it’s kind of weird if you want that to happen to weaken an opponent.

You don’t believe there were fans of other clubs that got a buzz when they got injured because it meant their team had a greater chance? You’re naive in the extreme if you don’t believe that. They’ll be smirking to themselves reading this, they’ll know. They won’t admit it on here of course!

Sad state of affairs! Riders like Doyle and Emil being in British speedway helps the gates on every team they race at so to be pleased they’re out injured when it impacts their own teams revenue seems completely counterintuitive to me. and on a human level why would you take joy in someone else’s injury and loss of earnings and livelihood whatever level of rider that is? I’m certain last years league title would’ve tasted sweeter for every single belle vue fan had it been won over a full strength Ipswich or Sheffield side

We won the Premiership but i would have preferred to do it against a Full Ipswich side, i certainly didnt want to see the injuries to Doyley and Emil two great riders i have a lot of respect for i certainly dont want to see any riders injured, weve suffered in the past with injuries in play off finals and its so frustrating, win or lose we all want to see full teams going for it Ipswiches injury list this season was unreal and you have to feel for them.

Doyle had just had a horror crash, nobody knew the injuries he’d sustained as was was whisked away in an ambulance. Old Daniel Smiths first post? He didn’t give a shiny sh!t about Doyle. All he was interested in was his team now had a golden chance (which they inevitably didn’t take). Even if Doyle does take a while to get back to his best, that will not harm Ipswich in the slightest. In the play-offs era there is less risk brining a rider back from a long term injury, especially in this case as Ipswich will certainly be in the top 4. Both Belle Vue & Sheffield will have just as good a sides and put up a challenge.
