Please don’t bracket Belle Vue with Ipswich & Sheffield on this matter, there is just no comparison, sadly.

Oh there is, 100%. Every club, Belle Vue included, build the best teams they can within the budget they have, without a seconds thought for anyone else.

Good news indeed - Jason has become Mr Ipswich in many ways so great to have him back, his bursts from the back when failing to make the gate are highlights for sure.

If it is Tom B tomorrow then that would be a great signing have a lot of time for him, at the same time it will be a shame if Rew isn't returning as in my view he made great improvement last year and will be a decent rider.

It has to be Tom B though to ensure the team is as strong as can be.

Surely they can't announce the final rider before the AGM?

Personally I would have preferred Rew to Ellis, Rew will only get better.

Possibly, but you never really know. The same was said about Heeps back in the day, and more recently, Drew Kemp. Might still happen for Kemp as he’s still young enough, but the signs aren’t great.

Fact is, Rew still spent most of this year at reserve and still averaged less than both Ellis and King, and King spent a large part of the season riding injured!

Have Ipswich played their hand a tad early here? All the others now know who Ipswich’ team is, so if they think it looks too strong they could club together and reduce the limit to 39, and Brennan suddenly doesn’t fit.

Yes they would all have been working towards the same 40 limit and it may hinder their plan also, but they might think it’s worth it. They’ll probably know they’ll be relying on injuries again to give them any chance, they look well clear of everyone else.

Not just saying this because Rew isn't back but I would've chose Ellis over Rew for three reasons.

1. Ellis ended up with an average of 0.06 less than Rew's and that was with Ellis having to ride as a HL on certain occasions, Whilst Rew's average was attained riding at reserve, Rew was scoring a lot of easy points against weak reserves when taking 6/7 rides a night.

2. Ellis has previously been a solid HL in British Speedway for a good few years and if he clicks and turns the clock back a couple of years then he'll make a mockery of the 5.61 GSA, I can see a points worth of improvement in that.

3. The Tom Brennan signing, Adam is good mates with Tom isn't he? That's a 3 & 4 pairing that really could be dynamite (Assuming King rides at No.2).

Ellis averaged more than Rew this year. Ellis 19 meetings, GSA of 5.90, Rew 23 meetings GSA 5.58.

No brainer to retain Ellis then.

I was using gbspeedway.com GSA's when comparing them but yes I forgot they're rolling averages and not yearly ones.

Absolutely Spot On, and they have tried with Keynan Rew now for weeks, as Arch Stanton quite rightly has said many times, Belle Vue have Zack Cook already in, but he is right, let's wait and see, we know Mr Lemon can change things at last minute, and now Louis has called Keynan's bluff as they say, Keynan suddenly becoming available might mean a last minute change for Belle Vue, and they would do that without a seconds thought about Zack, they are no different to Ipswich or Sheffield, if they want to change Zack at the last minute, they will, it's that simple. I would say either way, out of these 2 named riders, 1 will be at Belle Vue and 1 will be in the Birmingham septet.

2024 averages Inc bonus, Ellis 6.92 Rew 6.19. Bearing in mind their riding positions, including Adam is the obvious choice imo. If Brennan is the last rider, it's a cracking team...

Where did you get 6.19 from? It's 6.43

Meetings: 31
Rides: 150
Points: 216
Bonus: 25
Total: 241
Average: 6.43

only have to qualify for the play offs.  we have this nonsense every year about an unbeatable team, but with play offs then its about form at the right time.

Would be hilarious if they did

If that 1-7 is in the play offs, they’re winning it. Even taking account of their record at your place.
