Ipswich Witches 2025

So Doyle is confirmed to ride in the NKI testimonial Sunday week in the season’s curtain raiser. He’s also set to ride in the Peter Craven memorial a day later, Douglas’ testimonial on the 22nd, and the Ben Fund on Sunday 23rd, the day before the first competitive fixture at Belle Vue in the KOC.

Busy pre-season for him and after 10 months on the sidelines, very welcome. He should in theory be up to speed when it’s needed at Belle Vue.

He was his usual imperious self at Kings Lynn today. Very encouraging...

Guess that puts to bed any concerns that he wouldn’t return the same rider, or at least would take him a while to get going 😁

Shouldn’t have doubted him really, he’s just ridiculously good and a class act. Iron man!

Doyley hitting the ground running is very encouraging, As I said on the BV v Ipswich thread, Nothing to worry about with Jason as he's comeback stronger after every big injury he's had in his career.

How did Danny look?

Nabbed a 2nd in his first ride, then ran three lasts. Hopefully he just needs some time on the bike...

I’m trying not to read too much in to that, but King is usually handy around Lynn and after a good second first time out, three lasts including one heat that looked fairly easy on paper is a slight concern. Was only December he had surgery on his hand so fingers crossed he didn’t damage it in his opening ride…

It's best to start the season with King @ No.2 to see if Danny can build himself some confidence early on with the pressure off being paired with Doyle.

That way you'll know early on whether King's 2024 form was down to his hand injury or his age.

I personally wouldn't read too much into a lot of the performances today, there looked to be a lot of rustiness on show which is to be expected.

Doyle was excellent along with the other two GP boys and it'll be interesting to see how they all get on tomorrow evening.

And yet the man who won hasn’t done a lap in anger for 8 weeks short of a full calendar year. And at the very same place where he had his horrific accident. The man is phenomenal.

The real winners today though… the tractor racing fans

Have to agree regarding Jason.

The rotator cuff injury is a serious injury, and in Jason's case it is the 2nd time he has suffered this injury.

Ad the fact that he is now 39 makes his return back riding so well is even more impressive.

Must certainly be one of the toughest riders ever, physically and mentally, just hope he has an injury  free season, a true servant to British speedway.

It's encouraging - if Ipswich are to finally bag that first title since 98 they will need Jason back to his very best!

Doyley will be fine, Everything hinges on King imo, Doesn't need to set the world alight, Just needs to be consistent with 6 point returns instead of 3/4 point returns and then everything will be alright.

As per Brennan's schedule posted on X Press Day at 9am on Thursday and practice on Friday at 2pm.

https://x.com/TomBrennan27/status/1901582137758831066

Bit strange that. First time in my living memory they’ve held the practice on a different day to the press day. Always been press in the morning then up to Foxhall for afternoon practice.

Just wondering if Tom's post means Press day will include practice at 2pm on Thursday and Friday is practice only.

Hopefully someone will be able to clarify otherwise I'll just have to keep an ear out tomorrow in case something is happening.
