Ipswich Witches 2025

Recommended Posts

Like I stated before, with Ipswich naming the team before the AGM and too many people saying they will have to change it or they won’t name the full team: Too many ‘experts’ on here I guess :D Ipswich wouldn’t officially name a team that would be unsure of. Up the town!!!! It’s a good few days to be Ipswich!

Nobody else is risking it though Shano! Of course they must be confident, and a limit of 40 must have been agreed in principle, but it’s only ever official once it’s confirmed at the AGM itself which doesn’t even begin until tomorrow. To my knowledge, this is the first time in British Speedway history that a club has announced their full septet before the Annual Conference.

So it looks as though Ipswich final rider will be Tom Brennan, and you have to think that with the team that they have built with Tom in the team are going to be the team to beat.

With Doyle and Emil they have a very classy top two.

Brennan as the third heatleader should be very useful.

Adam Ellis if they can get him back to his 2021 form when he won his British title he could push Brennan for the third heatleader role.

Danny King will prove to be a more than useful 2nd string.

And the reserves are not too shabby.

If we they can stay fit they should be classed as favourites for the title.

I am impressed.

It’s a very smart strategy. Someone mentioned earlier they’ve built with five Brits. That all helps with the reductions. Four of them have the 2.5% reduction, another has a whopping 25% (Thompson). They’re effectively nearly a point and a half over the limit. Smart.

Reserved not too shabby 👀 it’s the best reserve pair in the prem I’d say… top notch!

It’s difficult to know. Lynn with Bomber at reserve should in theory have the strongest reserves. But nobody is quite sure at the moment which direction Boughen is heading. Jenkins looks the strongest rising Star to me, and Dan averaged over 5 (with bonus points) riding most of the season at number 2. He’s not likely to move out of the reserve berth this time with the top 5 we have so the reserves look a potent pairing. There’s no obvious weakness anywhere in the team really.

Doyle, Sayfutdinov, Brennan, Ellis, King & Thompson can't surely fit under a points limit...

Has a team named their entire lineup before the conference before? Really strange.

Tuesday 12th November AM: Ipswich announce their final rider.
Tuesday 12th November PM: 6 clubs vote for a 39 point limit.

lol

So if Birmingham were to say "vote for a lower limit or we pull out"

And Ipswich say "vote for the higher limit or we pull out"

I wonder what everyone around the country would vote for....
