I think you are bang on with the last comment.

Getting in Tom Brennan is the key to Ipswich success next season.

Taking  out Doyle and Emil and the bonus points, none of the rest of the team averaged less than 5 points away from home.

Okay against a lower team in the league but those who nearer the top you will always be vulnerable over two legs for the bonus point or a Play Off Semi Final/ Final.

Tom Brennan is the key to Ipswich next season, or someone that can do a similar job.

Would be a great signing...

That means everyone averaged above 5 away from home. Did you mean to say that?

No

Away Averages

Danny King 4:90

Adam Ellis 4:85

Keynan Rew 4:80

Dan Thompson 4:09

Jordan Jenkins 3:84

Only Jason Doyle and Emil Sayfutdinov averaged over 5 points in away matches.

And Sheffield had four riders over 5.00 away from home, and a fifth rider (Howarth) dead on 5.00. And yet Sheffield won four away league meetings, Ipswich six. Amazing really. Lies damn lies and statistics spring to mind.

Assuming Doyle is in that leaves 6.8 points (based on a 40 point limit)…

Is Rew the final man and we have built over a point under or will there be a curve ball and it’s a 39 limit??

Teams are building to 40. Belle Vue certainly have. So if it’s the same team again, we’re well under and would be disappointing. We’d effectively have Dan on his true average and not benefited from his 25% reduction.

Not sure if we’ll get one more tomorrow, but if we do it’ll be Doyle. Gonna have to wait until next week for the final rider or two. We usually make one change, so I’ll be surprised if it’s the same 7.

Well that’s put a spoke in the pigeon!

This one certainly does surprise me, I gave Ipswich the benefit of the doubt bringing back King if that meant Rew stayed and Brennan came in. Your second string / middle order has now gone from being as strong as your top two:

Rumoured                      Actual

2. Ellis                            2. Ellis

3. Brennan                    3. Brennan

4. Rew                           4. King

to now looking a bit vulnerable

Ipswich need T.B in ..

I’m sure something has changed late on, either Rew isn’t coming back or for commercial reasons Brennan is staying at Brum.

If it’s the same 7 we know we’ll be competitive but as you all know I would have preferred to see one change Brennan for King.

The problem with the same 7 is we will really struggle to beat Belle Vue over 2 legs & we will need to do that in the play offs to take the title.

or could the unthinkable happen & Doyle isn’t coming back ?
