Ipswich Witches 2025

Recommended Posts

Such a strong reserve pairing when looking at the Championship averages of riders who were part of this season's RS scheme as well as young Brits who are likely to ride in next season's Premiership at No.6

1. D. THOMPSON 7.55

2. Flint 6.85

3. JENKINS 6.37

4. Edwards 6.34

5. Gilkes 5.21

6. Boughen 5.16

7. Hagon 4.85

8. Mulford 4.38

9. Killeen 3.95

Confirmed that two riders, Anders Rowe and Dan Thompson both will receive a 25% reduction due to exiting the rising star scheme. Think Dan would have been in the team anyhow, but it’s even more important that he’s signed up so nobody else gets the benefit of such a hefty reduction. That will allow us to pack the top end, whilst also having a very good reserve pairing. Recipe for success.

Only a question mark over Brennan imo the rest are a formality considering we already know about Doyle and Emil has basically confirmed himself.

If a deal hasn't been done then would Kvech be an option? Because King cant ride as a HL at this level anymore.

Have Poland dropped their 2 league rule as I've seen Doyle is predicted to return to Sweden for 2025?

It’s not been in effect this season, example being Bewley riding in Poland, Sweden and UK

This kind of confirms that the “draft pick” doesn’t really work. They didn’t know if he was going to be eligible for some time so people questioning whether he’d be allowed back on the list are justified. Reading between the lines here and I could be wrong, but Jenkins is hinting here that Birmingham possibly wanted him as they had first pick, but he dug his heels in and in the end got the move he wanted.

The draft pick is a nonsense that doesn’t work. Have a rising star list if you must, but let clubs go for whom they want, and let riders ride where they want.

Strange how they didn't know he'd be eligible, from the first year it was introduced riders could "graduate" then drop back down (unless my memory fails me).

Totally agree with your last point, I see no reason for a ranking system, just allow clubs to pick the "rising stars" the same way they do the rest of the team.

Having spoken to Jordan, he didn't think he would be on the rising star scheme again. Therefore his first choice was Oxford, and to be in the main body of the team. But as soon as he knew he would be on the rising star list again - and knowing Oxford wanted to protect Killeen - his focus was definitely on Ipswich. So just goes to show that Birmingham didn't really have a chance of getting him - or Flint - for that matter.

Surely he'd have been at 6. Unless Oxford were hoping for Jenkins, Boughen & Killeen?

If Brennan hasn't be snapped up then would Ipswich be tempted to run with a 1-7 that's over a point under the limit which would be the same 1-7 returning from this season or would they release Ellis regardless to try and get a third HL in from abroad?

Doyle, Emil, King, Rew, Ellis, D. Thompson & JJ = 38.86

Wouldn’t be at all surprised if that’s the team, especially if it’s a 39 limit.

I'd be more than happy with that team again, unfinished business

Could be lions bound or brummies

Surely Brummies if it's not Ipswich.

Lions would be mad to sign Danny up when they need a big hitter to back Max up.
