The fact he gave so much to British speedway the last few years and it could help him financially is the reason you should sign it and not just be selfish on what you want in Britain. The guy gave his bonus for fastest lap time at Foxhall to the Benfund which he didn’t have to do. Rides and risks his life for entertainment. But you sit on your seat and worry about who will be in your team next year 👍🏼

I'm not convinced that the GPs are a financial benefit to the riders - the prize money isn't life changing.

The "risks his life for entertainment" trope is tired and meaningless.

Nonsense. He gave his bonus, wow, must've been what 0.0001% of his earnings? I'm not knocking him at all, he's a great rider and yes, appears committed to Ipswich and that was a great gesture so don't turn it into an 'I hate Emil narrative'. He won't be wanting to do the gp's for the money. Oh and that old tired argument of risking their life for our entertainment nonsense, it's a career they've chosen.

So if he comes top four in each meeting he would generate roughly £100,000+. That’s a decent amount to be taken away just because of politics. Plus additional sponsorship etc. Obviously Poland pays the highest but SGP is the next best financial benefit for a top speedway rider. It may be meaningless to you and yes it’s the sport they choose but it still doesn’t make the statement untrue does it.

How many riders finish in the top 4 in each GP?

Interestingly, I've worked out that World Runner-Up Lambert won 101,500 Euros (roughly £84,500 at current exchange rates).  That might help him and his team earn a reasonable living, but it's not going to generate much of a profit.

Agree, when you see so many other jobs that are far more dangerous than speedway it does make you laugh when you read the old "they risk their lives for our entertainment " being churned out.

No room for King

I'd imagine it will be a 40.00 limit if Brum don't come to tapes.

Only clubs I could've seen pushing for a 39.00 limit was Birmingham and King's Lynn tbh.

Therefore I'd say King & Brennan at 3 & 4 for Ipswich with Rew or Ellis departing the side.

I'm sure the real money coming from riding in the GPs would be sponsors, the prize money (at least for the top riders) I'd guess is more a bonus than anything

It’s official, no Emil in the SGP. Do we think this will affect him signing for next season?

No, it's going to be same old same old in 2025, with maybe one or two changes...
