Ipswich Witches 2025

Danny King would be fine back at Ipswich in the right position

He isn’t a heat leader and certainly not capable of carrying the team like some fans thought he could when we lost Jason and Emil

If Danny King rode at 2 or 4 he would do his job

The top 5 is simple

Jason , Emil and Brennan as heat leaders

And then 2 of Ellis Rew and King at 2 and 4….. personally yes I’d have Rew and Ellis but if one of them was to leave and we had Danny I’d be fine with that

King is almost certain to be back if we're being honest because Ipswich won't sacrifice Ellis to get Brennan in as they'll need another replacement for Ellis who'll be a much weaker rider around Foxhall when searching around for riders on 5 something GSA's.

Options would be riders like Craig Cook, Sedgmen, S. Worrall and co.

Frederik Jakobsen has show his liking to Foxhole previously…

Totally disagree Danny to be fair scores the points that you would expect. However it’s not all about that is it? The  biggest issue is when the chips are down he either goes missing or makes a novice error with riding lines. The semi final at Leicester being a prime example, on a comfortable 5-1 & then falls.

Also can’t team ride to save his life I’ve seen more team riding from Nicholls & Brennan in their witches appearances this season than King has managed in the last 5 years.

Any deal for Brennan surely depends on the points limit, I've got two teams down for Ipswich, One built up to 39 and the other 40.

Either way Danny King is defo going to be back imo.

= 38.87 (1. Doyle, 2. Ellis, 3. King, 4. Rew, 5. Sayfutdinov, 6. D. Thompson & 7. RS)

= 39.92 or 39.72 (1. Doyle, 2. Rew/Ellis, 3. Brennan, 4. King, 5. Sayfutdinov, 6. D. Thompson & 7. RS)

Totally agree. King rode at No.2 and still failed big time.

Never seen him team ride.

Adam Ellis rode all season as second string

Danny King rode 95% as a heat leader

Danny King got a higher average than Ellis riding in a harder position

Yet people want Ellis back but not King … as a second string Danny would be fine

This is nothing against Ellis who is be happy to see stay but just to gain perspective

Good point, hadn't thought of it like that before.

For me, I think Ellis is still on a bit of a false average after a couple of injuries disrupted his season, plus he has about 10 years on King.  Ellis could easily up his average in 25, King will do well to maintain his I think... so if it came to a choice I would opt for Ellis, but totally get your point

Was more curious if fitting the top 4 together would be possible but doesn't look bad (or likely), just a bit of a long tail.

Doyle 9.36
Sayfutdinov 9.12
Brennan 6.59
Musielak 8.21
D Thompson 3.11
Edwards 3.57
J Thompson RS
  39.96

That’s far too weak at the bottom end. Far better of with Ellis & Rew in the middle order.

Oh I agree if it came down to it I would probably prefer Ellis to King as a second string as he is likely to improve …. What I’m sick of is the constant King bashing he is at a certain level and as I said I did better than Ellis from a harder riding position which people seem to forget

This live on X.

Whilst I agree I suppose, I won't be signing as I couldn't really care less who is in the GP's, more interested in who will be riding and committed in the UK.

The fact he gave so much to British speedway the last few years and it could help him financially is the reason you should sign it and not just be selfish on what you want in Britain. The guy gave his bonus for fastest lap time at Foxhall to the Benfund which he didn’t have to do. Rides and risks his life for entertainment. But you sit on your seat and worry about who will be in your team next year 👍🏼
