Ipswich Witches 2025

Everyone can see that keeping the majority of the team is perfect, with Brennan slotting in for King… however this crops up every year and I fear Ellis or Rew will be sacrificed to give King his spot…

I don’t think Rew will be replaced after hearing how he was spoken about in a few interviews and kind of hinting he was already an Ipswich asset for next year. Ellis I’d love to keep, I hear he is good for team moral and a great guy to have around! I’d prefer to see the captaincy given to Doyle next year as well.

maybe ? a question that can never be answered tho ?  if but's maybe's ? sport throws up all types of senarios ? everyone writing Aces off tonight for instance but when we click into gear at home we can get 50+ against anyone and tonight it's possible everyone needs a slice of luck along the way to winning play/offs tonight will be a spectacle for TV perfect weather here today warm sunny 18 degrees track will be in perfection condition !!

Yes if your aunty had had balls etc

I think we’d be more likely to get a requirement for both reserve births to go British “rising stars” than to lose it all together.

Better to go with 5 man teams than that if it means two out of their depth

Totally agree… Captain Doyle is definitely the way to go!

Read into what you wish but Emil gave a polish interview to eleven sport yesterday and said his ambition is to ride in SGP and technically he could ride under a polish flag (he gained citizenship from Poland) although the authorities would have to agree it and also he doesn’t think it would be fair to take a polish spot from a polish rider. If it did happen though, would he drop witches and chose Sweden after all due to travelling ? …just thought I’d put it out there!

Why should Emil riding mean one less Polish rider racing in the GPs. The wild cards don't have to be based on nationality, they could just go by ability. I'd certainly hope so.

That one I can’t answer unfortunately ! Just repeating what he said in the interview. I mean if it was on ability alone then we all know two Russians who wouldn’t have been kicked out !

Might end up very close indeed.

Tobi might get his wish a year later than planned! I wouldnt be upset with him at Foxhall altho that would mean no Emil (in all probability)

Much as I love Tobi, I'll be gutted if Emil doesn't return 😪,  also like his namesake Mr Kroner he is a tad injury prone.

Only Emil knows for sure right now of his intentions, and intentions can change, i was talking to someone connected to polish speedway, a journalist, and the belief is that if Emil doesn't gain other commitments such as a GP wildcard or Challenge or European series then he will pick Ipswich over Sweden, his current Polish club won't stop him.

Based on a lot of conversations with the same person they seem to be "on the level" so though nobody can guarantee anything in life, i think on the whole it looks promising

I can't see Emil getting a wild card into the GP series, maybe a slight chance a route may reopen to go via the GP challenge but apart from one injury riding for Ipswich has worked out well for him, and based on his comeback from injury etc i think if his polish side has tried to protect him then they've done the right thing.

Wouldn't bet my whole house on it, but I'd bet a couple of rooms at least that Emil and Jason will be in witches kevlars

Well if this is the case it should be nailed on that Emil comes to Ipswich because speaking to Hawkins after a meeting a few weeks back he said Emil won’t be riding next year in SGP? Although things change quickly in speedway I’ve learnt so nothing is a dead cert!

Yeah its most likely its Ipswich or Sweden, i believe Ipswich will win that battle, so time to start putting together some possible sides including him

So thinking of some different scenarios...

1. If it's a 40 point limit then you could put the following together with room to spare...

Doyle, Emil, Rew, Ellis, Brennan, Dan T (with 25% reduction) + an RS

2. If it's 39 points, then to get Brennan in (which I think a lot of people want, me included) you would need to lose Rew or Ellis, which would be a shame, but something would have to give.

3. If management do what they tend to do each season and retain King (which we all know is still a strong possibility), then he fits into the team in point 1 above even with a 39 point limit (in place of Brennan).
