Apart from No.1 of course. I think we'll see a few different riding orders over the season. I’m sure he’ll base the riding order on who is at 1 and who is at 6, rather than who we’re facing… but we’ll see mate

StarBoy
Sheffield have announced their ticket price of £25. Birmingham is £24. Do we think Lynn will: a -remain the same? b - increase by £1? c - increase by £2? d - increase by more? Interested to see what people think. Would people pay £25, or is that getting to the point where it’s not a good value for money proposition anymore?
SaddlebowRoad
lynn usually stick a quid on the price each year so id expect that personally i think its getting a bit too expensive for what it is but people will always argue that its in line with other sports / leisure activities / nights out

The shows are generally between £28 and £35 per person for 2 hours live entertainment. Some shows are even more. The killer for me is that I live just south of Norwich, so its a 100 mile round trip and the cost of fuel has to be factored in. Plus the cost of a programme, perhaps a drink and some chips and its a big expense now I'm a pensioner. I think the admission price is OK, but its the total cost that makes it difficult for some people.

Expect that (sadly). Any more than that is greedy. Any less is generous.

Regardless of your budget, the nominal price increase will not determine whether someone will attend or not. Most people will accept what they’ve been served up previously or will have walked away from the sport before now. If all tracks were to reduce prices by £2, how many more spectators would that attract each week?……. Exactly! That isn’t going to bring back the ‘Yes I remember going to speedway years ago, what happened to the sport’ brigade. Tweaking admission costs are the very least of the sports problems in this country.

Well if you put it like that, how about the riders? They're only working for what, between 3 minutes and 7 minutes in an average meeting. The average Top End Speedway riders, hourly rate must be around £21,000 per hour, that's about the same as very low end Premier League footballer isn't it? 😱 Maybe we should change each race to 12 laps, that way we'd get for 3 x our value for money, and bring these over inflated Speedway Rider salaries down to earth. Alternatively, we could all just go and watch League 2 football, that's about the same price; £24 for a match, instead of these riders who go full throttle, for 4 blistering laps, putting their necks on the line, for the true Speedway fans. Value for money is subjective, and It's personal preference of course, but I know what I'd rather do.

The home riders know this also. They’ve also been critical of the track. It needs sorting because if riders don’t have confidence to ride to the max there, then the supporters are the ones who will suffer.
