Bald Bloke
Good to see that Ashton was at the AFA at 7.30 am the day after NKI's testimonial, trying to iron out a few things on the bikes.

What are KL fans expecting?? He only managed 3.10 at home in 24 at a specialist track. Certainly wouldn't go expecting much, if at all, better than that. He's very very raw. They wanted Jenkins. Problem was he wanted Ipswich. Makes a mockery of the so called picking order though. That's right it was Jenkins or Flint that were wanted, dependant on who Birmingham was going to pick Lynn would have picked the other. They are the best 2 rising stars in the league, and the team that was supposedly to have the last pick ended up with one of them. Now most people would have expected those 2 riders to have been picked in the first 3 picks at least. This just shows it isn't done how the BSPA lead us to believe. Why they don't just say it how it is.

It was definitely Jenkins that was the preferred choice, Flint was the second option. The selection process just doesn’t work for a number of reasons. The riders themselves MUST have a choice where they ride, they can’t and shouldn’t be forced to ride anywhere. Jenkins for example wasn’t even sure whether he would be eligible for a rising star berth and neither were the Ipswich club management. As soon as it was confirmed he was eligible again this year, the deal was done and that was that. If they are to insist on this scheme going forward, then they should just compile a list of eligible riders and then let the riders and clubs crack on with it like they do every other rider. But they wouldn’t be “forced” to ride somewhere they didn’t want to be if they opted out of being a rising star 🤷🏻♂️ if you choose to carry on as a rising star then you should expect to go anywhere in my opinion

Having to ride somewhere because you’ve been picked is a complete nonsense. Riders MUST have a say in where they want to go.
