Which of the the two 5 pointers starts at reserve?

Expand

Plan is Victor as both assessed.

However think we will get stopped from doing it as don’t think the clubs that run the league will want it that way round. Make up some rule with Victor having a higher previous avaerge or something along those lines.

I'd go

1. Justin Sedgmen

2. Jonatan Grahn

3. Kye Thomson

4. Paco Castagna

5. Oskar Polis

6. Max James

7. Victor Palovaara

Personally think the 3 assessed riders will surprise a few, very impressed with this Edinburgh team, not got a lot of top end power but 6 riders who could be heatleaders and a young rider that they've stuck by.

Would be a real coup if we are permitted to have Victor at reserve.  More likely to be Jonatan Rahn I would have thought.  Since he is so new to UK tracks I would have Oskar paired with Sedgy.  Would also agree that the Kye/Paco pairing did not consistently work well, so my 7 would be :

Sedgmen

Polis

Thomsen

Pavlovaara

Castagna

Rahn

James

Think Grahn will be at reserve dew to victor having a previous higher uk average although he has been reaccessed to a 5

Expand

Only thing I can see about it in the regulations is this, though not sure if the second paragraph would apply since Victor has been away for some time, I'd assume Victor would be 5th in averages but maybe Edinburgh can choose.

In any declaration where 2 or more riders hold an identical MA (cannot be determined by a 3rd or more decimal point) then the re-declaration must nominate the hierarchical order.

Where riders have a previous MA, then the higher placed rider from the previous issue shall retain the higher position.

There’s nothing in the rules to say he can’t but the unofficial rules made up by certain promoters will see Grahn start at reserve.

that kind of does suggest that vp is more senior than grahn but as with many speedway rules its not crystal clear

the blobby bleating is funny tho

Did the same thing not happen at Peterborough, they wanted Tarasenko to ride at reserve but Wojdylo had to ride there, despite there being no ruling to enforce that decision?

John Campbell is now on the BSPL Directors Board (replacing Danny Ford) so surely he will have influence to dictate the Monarch's 1-7 riding order?!

Expand

Not all the directors use a position of power to cheat, some do the right thing, good that you basically admit that's what Danny Ford did

That's quite an accusation Lewy with absolutely nothing to justify it!! Everyone on any board of directors has the ability to influence decisions/policy, otherwise why agree to be on it? You might just as well leave it to a dictator....!😝

Is it,you have basically said john Campbell is now in a position to influence a decision in favour of his team, the decision should be influenced by what is fair and been done in the past, not all about self interest being on the mc I feel we have moved on somewhat from that, especially without the Ford's on it.

  • 2 weeks later...

The return of the Scottish cup it is then to start the season, 4th April.

The return leg the following week, good way to get some laps under their belts before the season kicks off properly still would have preferred the Scottish open. However it’ll do.
