More chance of getting paid riding on these shores it would seem.

Monarchs have had two Poles in the past that I recall  Darek Fliegert 1992 ( Powderhall ) and Michal Rajkowski in 2009 ( Armadale ).  Fliegert had his moments as I recall but was a bit up and down overall.  Rajkowski was an all action rider who had a run of good scores but don't think he finished the season due to injury, but not certain of that. UK tracks were a bit of a shock to both I think.

Rode in the 3rd league most of the year which is  their national league and has a 8 point ave in that decent no fear type rider but may struggle on technical tracks

Only rode 6 league meetings last year, 4 in Poland 2nd tier and 2 in Sweden, didn't sound like a good move to Lodz, I know Cookie had problems when he signed for them way back too.

Was 2023 that he averaged 8 in the 3rd tier, has returned back there for 2025.

Good signing, and refreshing seeing so many new and returning riders in 2025.

Would guess he will be a 7-7.5 point average rider at the very least, would of said more but allowing for learning new tracks. Will probably fly round Northside in the opening KO cup match 🫢

Lodz and Opole are two of the three smallest tracks in Poland (Torun the other), Therefore Oskar shouldn't have any trouble getting around Edinburgh.

Good signing.

Opole is still quite big compared to most of the UK tracks, Marcin rode quite well for Lodz and almost had a heart attack when he entered turn 1 at Edinburgh for the first time and you could argue he is the better rider.

If he can work out the track though he will be a very good signing

Think that is a touchy subject with a lot of riders riding in Poland. No one prepared to put their head above the parapet though.

Been a problem here in the past. Hans Andersen, a prime example, performing at a very high level, he went public about not being paid. I didn't think his own fans were particularly sympathetic to his plight.

So the comets home and away on the 18th/19th to April to start of the competitive action.

Hoping the season opener they have panned for the previous Friday will be the return of the Scottish open, a title personally used to look forward to as used to get some great fields for it.

Best time to run it is early season when riders want "paid practice".

Be good for Monarchs new boys & hopefully some former favourites to help generate a big crowd.

Is there a downloadable calendar for the fixtures? I might have asked this in previous seasons so apologies if so.

Good signing.

The size of the tracks may be similar in yardage but that’s the only thing.Osker will not find Armadale similar to ride as the tracks in Poland.

Set ups compared to Poland are so different as well, even on bigger tracks.

That may well be the case and there is no denying that such a signing does have an element of chance to it especially on a 6.00.  Possibly more so than the signing of a new to UK Scandic 5.00 for instance.  However, best of luck to him and the rest of this newly refreshed team for 2025.   Certainly a lot of new interest for the fans to follow.

I seem to recall another Polish rider predicted to find Armadale not to his liking - Kasprzak riding for Belle Vue in the 2009 promotion/relegation match. How did that work out? :)

Track was waterlogged couldn’t believe it started, he went out heat 1 and smashed the track record couldn’t believe it.

Was it not the third attempt to get it on and only ran because it was the last available date?
