szkocjasid
I think Max is the best 2.00 rider signed so far (who will start the season). There is certainly potential to have a decent season for this team.

Hopefully coupled with a stronger reserve will bring him on.
JanAndersen
Good news. Also makes it more likely we’re going to pull a rabbit out the hat with a 6.00 rider.

Pinny
Edinburghs team building has fallen right off the last few years. Bottom of the table battle with Plymouth this side.

Glad to see you put your tinny down for a minute, not really up to date with the other teams apart from Glasgow but i think your right they need 2 or 3 to step up to avoid a poor season. They were lucky having Masters & Cook + Pickering latterly, to build around for so long. Makes it so much easier when you have a real #1 to hold the team. But Pullover's signing & the Swede show at least one thing Edinburgh did well, looking for improvers, not just guys who stay the same. Thomson's signing is a bit of a surprise as he hasn't really improved or even looked like he would jump up the avs. But if Paco can finally break the mould i suppose Thomson can too, Lasse got dropped yet never really settled due to constant injuries, mostly not his fault, Thomson doesn't have that excuse. A good balanced comment some of which identifies the difficulty that Monarchs have attracting riders to travel so far north to Scotland. Not quite sure I agree with the statement we were lucky to sign Masters, Cook and Pickering. Promotion identified the opportunity to sign a young struggling Craig Cook and sacrificed Summers to fit him in. Including Pickering I can count 8 or 9 riders who were introduced to this level of racing by Monarchs and probably another half dozen who were struggling at their clubs and developed at Monarchs. So around 14 in total out of 59 signings to date in Championship which shows that the promotion work hard for to secure a successful team. In the past when we lost our number 1 (Carr, Schott and others) we were in the same position as now, so yes we really need a number one. We await our seventh rider optimistically. Like i said the Thomen signing is a surprise, but maybe his average just fit. Wonder whom could be under 6.44 Vissing or some unknown on a 6pt ave? But monarchs have a good supporters club helping make up any loss.

Agree regarding number one. Don't think we have a rider who will have you on edge of your seat.

It must be about 12 years since was last with Monarchs and will be 39 in 2025. Thought they may have gone for a younger prospect that they could hold on to for a while. Not that there is anything wrong with 40 y.o. Speedway riders - there are plenty out there. Could turn out to be a red herring though as we've seen plenty of those on here in the past. StevePark
I think, if I was a Monarchs fan, I'd just be glad that they can put a team together for 2025, bearing in mind how close they were to closing due to lack of track a few years back and the "increasing" worry, year on year, that this is the last season at Armadale.
