Can't see any of our riders scoring double figures away from home.

The league has only lost Pickering, cook and Brennan. Still got all the other top guys in the league. Heat 13 and 15 going to be a major issue. Unless we have two reserves that are going to increase their averages and we’re strong there all year we’re going to be in deep bother.

However it ends up it's a wee bit less than expectations so far  - although can see Victor exceeding his 5.00.  The others are possibly on the money where they are at present.

A wee bit ?

I have to say, if it's confirmed 2 x 4pt reserves, I'd quite honestly have to say it's one of the worst ever attempts at team building I've ever seen from the Monarchs management. And I've been around to witness multiple efforts.

Sedgmen is not a number 1.

Castagna is not a number 5.

Thomson is adequate at 3 or 4.

Palovaara or SuperGrahn must be at reserve. There's no point in having them both in the top 5.

The 4-pointers may well do ok at reserve. However, any possible potential gain from that 'strength' will be well and truly cancelled out by those above who have, quite frankly, been thrown to the wolves.

I look forward to counting the heat advantages from 13 and 15. Should be fun...

Here goes .......

I agree with everything in this post Gary.

All a bit underwhelming.

Others teams can put together a solid looking seven.

The league is being split the past few seasons into the haves and have nots, unfortunately Edinburgh along with Plymouth and Berwick seem to be in the second category.

Edinburgh have at least tried this season so far with Palovaara and Grahn to bring something fresh, unfortunately the big hitters often stay put or chase the money elsewhere.

They might pull a rabbit out of the hat, there is still time yet.

Mainly from established rider over here though.Problem for Monarchs is not too many riders fancy Armadale as their home track .IMO

We don’t know final line up. So maybe a surprise signing to come.

8.44 left for #6 & #7 should be enough to allow a couple of worthy additions to the lower end.  These could well end up being crucial in the make up of a  "more balanced" side that some folks have been calling for.   Judgement time will be October 2025 ?

Berwick have had decent teams over the last couple of years. They unfortunately have suffered badly with injuries.

Effectively with Josh moving on we’ve moved everyone up a spot got rid of lasse and max James, and brought in a bit more fire power at the bottom end to replace Pickering.

Fully agree we could be in for a long year. I know John was crying out middle of last years for crowds to increase it starts with a winning team on the track which he’s failed to produce for a couple of years now. Are him and Alex losing their touch when it comes to team building? Or are we being out priced? Probably bit of both.

Too many tracks on a Friday night.

Riders will choose a track either closer to home or as it is their living one that offers a better monetary package.

Behind every single successful speedway team that ever existed has been a presence on the British Speedway Forum.

This topic sits at 14 pages. Fourteen. One. Four. Glasgow? We’re at 25. Even Berwick are in the twenties. You’re one page ahead of Plymouth and their entire fan base consists of two men and a dog.
