So 1 week to go, riders named and riding order drawn. Question is: who will be first to pull out through injury/Poland/ GP duty etc?

Justin Sedgmen and Craig Cook are ruled out of the meeting due to injury, whilst Steve Worrall has been out with illness since earlier this summer.

Worrall is replaced by his Glasgow team-mate Leon Flint whilst Workington’s Antti Vuolas is called up in place of Comets skipper Cook.

Meanwhile Plymouth’s Ben Barker comes in for Sedgmen

So Kemp (6.63) overlooked behind Barker (6.32) & Vuolas (6.29)?

All 3 are second choice riders for their clubs!

I was trying to figure out how the replacements had been decided. I failed.

This sounds familiar. I think the answer is that old green sheets are used. The August averages show Vuolas and Barker ahead of Kemp.

For an event on the 15th of the month, you'd think they'd use the September averages?

That's easy to answer, highest averaged rider from every club, top 7 second heat leaders. Cook & Allen are 3rd heat leaders.

Talking about available riders here, even though he's 5th in the averages Vuolas is Workington's second rider for this event, so ranks above Cook & Allen (but below Kemp).

Still confused why Kemp is being overlooked, or Bowtell / Joe T as Barkers replacement?

If highest average was the priority then Ben Cook & Jake Allen would've been in before Vuolas & Barker to start with?

Have they changed the qualifying criteria?

No criteria, just make it up as you go along, this is British speedway after all.
