Gritblaster
The programme given out by Leicester last night suggests Tom Brennan is guesting for Oxford replacing Janowski?

Oxford look in real trouble with their team and I’d imagine changes must be on the way? Nothing I've seen from the Oxford promotion makes me think they know they have a weak team. Of course they've got to be positive in public, but match reports & articles always suggest they had bad luck or just need to iron out issues / riders need track time. Maybe once they've had their full 1-7 out & keep losing (if that happens) they'll look at strengthening up. But don't see anything happening soon. I think if they can manage consistent close home wins that'll probably do them... unfortunately for them they've got the mighty Lions next 🦁
Chairboy
I think the Oxford management are well aware the Spires team is weak. A big name was expected to sign in the winter, but didn't. What options are available to them now? Even if they are willing to splash a bit of cash, who is available now that would make a significant difference?

It’s the riders that ‘polish purple helmet’ rather than show up for their team that annoy me 😠
szkocjasid
Comments from Schroeck in the Speedway Star: "Acknowledging the below-par nature of performances, which included a 40-point hammering at Ipswich, the German boss has vowed to carry on searching for a solution to their poor early season form" Is it possible it's not poor early season form were seeing, just that the Spires are too weak for their opponents? "Dan (Thompson) came in and did a very good job and I was close to putting him in Heat 15 but it didn't really matter that much in the end. "I needed to give our No. 1 (Rohan Tungate) an opportunity. He gave it a go but it didn't happen for him in the end. I'm in a difficult situation at the moment trying to keep everybody happy. "It's what I signed up for, so I've got to carry on. All we can do is pick ourselves up, go again next week and see what happens." That last part make me think they're not looking at making changes, at the moment hoping their form improves? mikebv
There are 3 teams clearly better than the other four... With one of them clearly better than the other two.. The other four then get split into pairs... Oxford and Birmingham being the bottom pair.. From the moment all the teams were announced that was going to be the case as the vast amount of comments on here clearly showed, (and Bet365's odds!) Never quite understand how, each year, after a few weeks into the season, some fans call out how poor their team are when it was "blindingly obvious" before a wheel was turned how much adrift they were from the better teams... "We have gone for strength in depth, with each of our team capable of putting a point on their average".. Translated: "We wanted to sign a world level rider as we know it is the only way to be successful, but we couldn't get one".. Thanks for coming back to me with that @Triple.H., much appreciated 👍. Should be do-able, hopefully I won't end up sprinting back to the car 🏃♂️

At the Cheetahs on Wednesday, Schroeck kept going on about how they want to get the meeting done quickly as they've got to get back up to Leicester in the evening.

There’s a real incentive for the Lions reserve pair on Monday. This lad Gusts (whom I’ve yet to see) sounds exciting. So if he gets out in front and stays there, you wouldn’t want Dickson in your ear saying you couldn’t pass wind 😂
