Not sure why it didn't work as you'd think it would be a humane alternative to the doggies 🐕 Good for Oxford though 🎰 Edited yesterday at 09:28 AM by IainB

I suppose it's a matter of how well a team is doing over the second "half" of the season, that counts. Had the impression Oxford threw in the towel last year especially after Leicester got into gear. Perhaps this year, they're more oriented towards having scope for beefing up the team later-on. I can see some big away defeats, early doors. Don't think it wax a great sucess as they don't seem to have returned. I think the betting industry's problem with Speedway is they don't like events that can be easily fixed. Triple.H.
There used to be a bookie at Oxford for a season or two a couple of years before the closure.

It was a success but can only really be done for a big meeting, you need to be able to balance a book to make it worthwhile.

They seem to draw the line at Eurosport though 😂 I think the Elite League was sponsored by SkyBet for a time during the Sky years wasn't it? More people watch the 30 second commercial once than all those who watch speedway as a whole And the average man in the street probably identifies the person endorsing it, would they know Chris Harris? Certainly a factor, although that may be more of the reason bookies were not rushing to get involved. I think historically it is more to do with the 'gentleman's club' environment of speedway's administrators [The ACU was set up by the Royal Automobile Club to administer motorcycle sports]. There were a series of unlicensed meetings at Lea Bridge in 1932 where betting was allowed but it didn't catch on. Col
From 12 fixtures Gusts averaged 2.43 (0.607) in Ekstraliga for Wroclaw in 2024, replacing Woffinden post injury. Less than Anders Rowe. From 2 fixtures Gusts averaged 4.40 (1.10) in Eliteserien. On a par with Adam Ellis. Struggling to find much else on him league wise, didn't seem to race in Denmark
