Oxford Spires 2025

I don't think Kildemand is a bad signing on a 6.00 average, he could reach that. But I thought he was an awesome signing at first when I was led to believe it was 4.0/4.5.

I certainly don't understand why they would drop Harris for Kildemand though. I guess we'll never know if they had other answers that fell through & Kildemand was a back up option (something Harris wouldn't agree to be).

Don't think Harris was ever in the team (think Harris/Boughen/Glasgow)

Its not always about building to the limit though, more about getting the riders that you want in your 1-7

It's also sometimes about finding yourselves in a corner and then cobbling together seven riders who can be bothered to ride over here, after other teams have locked and loads their "top two" well before you have....

Is the Oxford team that bad? It’s a similar match up to Kings Lynns in my opinion. Everyone fancying them for play offs although I can’t see anybody matching up to Ipswich, Sheffield and Bv.

The last rider needs to be a solid rider who can hit their average home and away and they should be competitive

This time last season everyone at Oxford filled with optimism....stadium/support/money etc etc etc....

This season...looking sh#te....someone needs to take a closer look at the Team manager!?

That's a rewriting of history. There was considerable doubt about the wisdom of running three teams this time last year. However I am disappointed that with more time to plan there is not greater commonality between the teams. As for the team manager sometimes a discrete silence is the best response.

If you swap the no.1 and 2's for both sides....then Stars would have 6 ticks!

Wasn't the multiplier going to increase by 0.1 every season until it reached 2 so that doubling up would be reduced 🤣

Or maybe eventually brought the mathematical equation into the range of the powers that be.......

My long campaign to persuade a member of the SCB that linear regression should be used never really gained much momentum. 🫢

They have 7.4 left for last rider so Riss will probably be at reserve although you would fancy Harris in a match up against anyone while he stays at reserve.

I thought Cook was at no1 Lawson reduction in average takes him from top rider to below Cook.

Spires have more chance of being competitive in heats 13 & 15 than Stars do. One good T/S works against teams that are built on overall strength.
