I'd expect Kildemand to be given a minimum of 6.00. It doesn't work like that, Pawlicki and Milik were given 7.50 averages because they were both Ekstraliga riders in 2023 averaging over 6. By the rulebook chart and under the criteria, Kildemand would be a 4.00 Premiership / 5.00 Championship. This is because he only rode in the Danish super league this year, i.e Didn't complete 18 or more heats in Poland/Sweden, and has been absent for 3 of more years from Britain. I guess we will find out at the weekend if Oxford keep announcing daily signings. Would help if they went down the Workington route in regards to press releases by telling everyone what averages riders have been Assessed/Reassessed to. Col
Kildemand didn't appear to ride in Poland last season.  Last stats I can find for him are 2023 Stal Rzeszów when he averaged 7.68 (1,919) in the second tier, for reference that's lower than Krystian Pieszczek & Jacob Thorssell who were in the same team. Can't see that Kildemand rode in Elitserien either last year. He did ride in his native league, averaged 4.93 (1,232) for Fjelsted. A little more than Adam Ellis & Nicolai Klindt averaged, but distinctly less than Luke Becker & NKI. ouch
33 minutes ago, SaddlebowRoad said: 7.1 i think It was. Peter signed for us for the 2020 season on a 7.10 average but never rode due to Covid. He then signed for Kings Lynn for the 2022 season on his 7.10 average but never rode due injury, being replaced before a wheel was turned. Even though he had his 7.10 average two years ago, there’s only so long he can keep that without riding over here so I’d expect him to be reassessed. He was in the Rzeszow squad this year but didn’t ride. Looking at the rules (this seasons anyway) he will be a 4 due to his participation only in the Danish Super League but who knows what they’ll do.  https://britishspeedway.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/p22_issue_1.pdf

dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
If Kildemand comes in on a 4 the sport is cooked Just because someone isn't in a certain league for a year or two doesn't turn them back in to a novice....

He's clearly not the rider he was as you say - over the course of the season his average will find its way. He's not exactly been riding against world class riders so is going to take time to find his feet. It's an investment for any team. Ultimately you can't make it one rule for one and one rule for another - it's not like he's been sat around for 3 years intentionally not riding or riding in lesser leagues because we've asked him to come in on a 4 average. Although the reference is to 'established average' not 2024 average and although PK did not ride in PL2 (now the 'National league') this year he does have an established average from 2023 which might push him up to 4.50. Surely signing a former Grand Prix winner on a 4.5 average (if true) is anything but a terrible signing.

And the fact that it'll be the last signing announced also has to be a good sign. 1. Leon Madsen 2. Erik Riss 3. Maciej Janowski 4. Charles Wright 5. Rohan Tungate 6. Peter Kildemand 7. Luke Killeen Not a bad team that! Edited December 6 by Bojangles 2
