Oxford Spires 2025

If the rumoured signings of Magic, Riss and Schlien leave 8.01, looks like we will need a 'big' hitter to stay competitive. Is it realistic to think maybe Vaculik, Dudek, Madsen, Michelsen?  the rumours about Bewley seemed to have dried up. Without somebody of that standing, a battle to avoid bottom spot looks on the cards.

100% agree, Getting a No.1 really is make or break for the Spires.

Bewley is staying at Belle Vue. Oxford still have a golden chance to be very competitive due to Janowski’s cheap looking average. Because of his early struggles, he’s now on a very attractive average judging by his end of season form. Have to make it count though which they haven’t done previously so can understand the concerns.

They really shouldn't have wasted time in chasing Bewley.

Now the Spires may not have a No.1 at all and they may only have two real HL's.

Oxford can still be stronger than last year, even if they don't sign a top heat leader.

As long as they find a 6.5+ rider, they've strengthened on Harris at the top of the team.

Then if they have got Schlein or someone of a similar ability at 6, that's an improvement on the Kerr / Kemp / Killeen position.

Apart from that it's Killeen for Boughen, which does weaken them imo.

*I know Killeen rode with Boughen for a few weeks, but I'd say he's effectively replacing Boughen's position this year.

Please remind me what’s the criteria for a new rider with an assessed 8.00 average, is it a non GP rider?

Think Emil and Freddie came in on 8, but Kvech didn't.

I have no idea how it works when a current and ex GP rider start on an 8 then another GP rider comes and starts on a lower average?

I believe that a rider must have been in the GP's for at least two years to have the 8 point assessed average.

Rumours of his demands are quite wide off the mark, so could well be Dudek at Oxford

Dudek, Janowski and Tungate a decent top 3

Wont happen
