40-38
Nasty crash for Craig Cook. Walking slowly back to the pits bit I'd be surprised if he's fit for the play offs looking at how much pain he's in.

Somebody said similar at Oxford last Thursday and he came out for his next race and finished the night off... fingers crossed

Any sign of rain? 🫣
40-38
Cook withdrawn shoulder injury. Lions have fallen more in 6 heats than all the rest of the season.
Rob B
Is the track bad? what's with so many falls?
IainB
2 minutes ago, Rob B said: Is the track bad? what's with so many falls? Well, Bomber wasn't looking where he was going in heat 1! Dougy first bend incident, Lambert dropped it in an instant to miss Lawson who had fallen, Cook seemed to fall on his own and Becker nearly lost it on turn 4 in his first outing, track is super slick Edited September 5 by iainb
Teromaafan
Lions spluttered over the line tonight, although the result meant nothing of course. Moving forward to the playoffs, the fitness of Cookie will be key. Fingers crossed he will be okay for Monday, but if he isn’t, the Lions could end up having to ‘carry’ two reserves. Whoever is at No.7 it seems will struggle to contribute anything unless an opponent does not finish in a race. With the Lions top five, I think that can be accommodated over two legs (worked so far), but you then need your other reserve to be scoring 4 or 5. Cookie is capable of this, but if injured, the likes of Rowe or Kerr need to be brought in to cover.
IainB
That's me probably done for the season, I'm sorry I just can't buy into the pay offs anymore, I'll maybe go to the finals if we reach them otherwise I'm done!

Elmo
I believe Cook has dislocated his shoulder and was in an a lot of pain, if so can’t see him being fit for next week. Stand by for a phone call Lewis Kerr.

A fanstastic advert for the sport.... A great ride from Fricke to hold off the two Holders in Ht 15.... Let's hope next years final between Ipswich and the Aces is as good... We had a right old wobble last night against Lynn! Douglas, Cook & Hagon all carrying injuries and yes the pay offs do usually provide a step up in racing, but... I just can't buy into it anymore, what they have done with the rigging of the pay off spots, for me, is the single worst decision that has been made in the so called sport (and there's been a few), it cuts right to the heart of what Speedway is, is it a sport or is it sports entertainment? For me the rigging of the pay offs says to me that it's the latter and I'm sorry, I just ain't interested in that.

What makes it worse, is that it was absolutely completely unnecessary.
