I know they currently have better tracks than Newcastle have

Or ever will have again!!

I'll be heading down south for my annually trip to both plymouth and poole. I enjoy them both and love their little rivalry, if you can even call it that...

Just a shame plymouth isn't Tuesday anymore, always went plymouth Tuesday, poole Wednesday and head back up north via sheffield or Ipswich on the Thursday.

More of a rivalry between Poole and Oxford now! Maybe if Plymouth are more competitive this season, the rilvary will be back.

His gating alone should see him score well at home especially. Should be a decent signing overall though.

The Klindt was superb for Worky in the treble win of 2018. I had so much more respect for him by the end of that season. It may have helped that he had his mates with him in the team in Rene Bach and Rasmus Jensen but he was a strong character himself and I have fond memories of him from that season.

Nobody really knows how any signing will turn out but I think Plymouth have made a sound choice. Be great to see him at Worky.

I would rather a klindt type gating tart than a poor gater like zagar round the Klondike .

Think you've lost your marbles RR, if you'd prefer Klindt over Zagar at this level. Klindt has yet to have a stand out season at this level as a number 1 and is the type of rider who would average similar in the top flight or this league. Plus coming back from an injury.

Klindt will be heatleader standard for sure but nowhere near the top of the averages whereas Zagar would IMO be number 1 in the league averages. Zagars gating is pretty good too.

He is a good gater to be fair and every one knows thats the main route to success at Plymouth. Plus at Wolves he was riding in a much tougher league and wasnt as polished a rider as he is now .

i have always respected Ruckerroos posts from his Reading days and maybe Zagar has fell off form more than I thought but if I had a choice id take him over Klindt every time. Zagar was superb around Eastbourne which is / was a tight track.

none the less the promotion have gone out and got a decent rider in so have to applaud them, Zagar would probably want double Klindts wages.

Good move for rider and club, but I do wonder what will happen if/when he gets a gig in Poland?

Expand

He has, but under a Warsaw Contract for Ostrow in the Ekstraliga 2 which, as far as i can make out means he is attached but not under official contract. What happens if there are fixture clashes I don't know.

As a reading / Eastbourne regular of yesteryear I sort of understand what your saying but that Plymouth track essentially is a race to bend 1 bar the odd exception or an error . Klindt is renowned for sharp starting and as you say he's prob cheaper .
As for the glads last signing a rider who has def improved a bit in recent yrs is jack smith , if he fits he's a better bet than trigger etc

Think we know what will happen. Most riders would drop Champ for riding in Poland and can't really blame them for that.

It appears looking at various recent interviews,  all is not rosie in Poland regards to money,  lots of riders are owed money,  and lots of clubs are in debt,  more so in the lower leagues,  which klint and kilderman etc would ride for

Wasn’t Klindt meant to be the next great danish hope when he first came over? But sure he done his shoulder quite badly and took him a while to get over it. And as you say he hasn’t set the world alight in the championship in the past but he should easily average 8.50 imo. Plymouth will need him to be nigh on unbeatable.

I don't think the Plymouth track would suit Jack Smith. He had a very brief spell for Plymouth in 2021, failing to score from 3 meetings. If my memory is correct he then wanted to leave.

Quick look at his Championship scores at Plymouth:

0 (3)

0 (3)

2+1 (4)

0 (3)

If Plymouth are focussing on home wins, I'd go for Ben Trigger.

Probably take Jack Smith over Trigger at most other tracks in the league.

Another option could be Adam Roynon?

In the Championship last year Ben Trigger only failed to score in 1 meeting. One of his best meetings for Redcar was at Plymouth. Should be an improvement again this year. I know it will bring Plymouth under a point below the limit but he seems to be the best of the rest, IMO.
