Popular Post szkocjasid
As much criticism as Plymouth get for not replacing missing heat leaders (Kennett & Covatti) how many other Championship clubs have been able to replace injured heat leaders in recent years? While there haven't been a great many long term injuries, clubs have struggled to even sign riders willing to ride on a temporary basis: Berwick (Schlein), Birmingham (Auty), Edinburgh (Pickering), Redcar (Riss / King) & Workington (Zischke) have all ran with guests & r/r in the last few of years rather than finding a temporary or permanent replacement. Berwick couldn't even find a replacement for a reserve, happy to run with guests for Borke. Only heat leader I can remember being replaced is Steve Worrall & that was by someone with a second string average. So while it's certainly not ideal Plymouth running two out of the last three seasons missing a number one, before people keep criticising them, think to yourself - would other clubs have done any different? 9
Pinny
Plymouth really should be a third tier club its as simple as that.

Disagree pinny,2026 a championship club has to move up to replace brum,Plymouth drop down as you suggest means remaining championship teams would have only six teams to ride against, that's pretty sh-t, It's up to british speedway and other championship clubs in particular to make sure its a competitive league, uneven teams make for boring speedway
YeOldPitGate
Christ Zagar would bankrupt them after one meeting, Zetterstrom must be pushing 50 now, they just need to accept theres no one about who is affordable and try and replicate the Lynn strength in depth approach. See if they can pick up a couple of unpolished future gems from Aussie or USA I say ideally these two countries as you can't rely on poles and Swedes and Danes would cost fortunes in air fees. Need to accept until more financing comes in they operate in bottom third of championship but equally need to try and win majority of home meetings or have young riders where the punters can see genuine improvement coming through over next 2-3 years. Granted there are less sides around than in years gone by but why on earth would you commit to championship racing without having a good idea of your side , scraping around how they are looking for heatleaders is just ridiculous.

Having 3 tiers is one of the biggest issues in British Speedway but while we have them there has to be acceptance that some clubs will have lower budgets / facilities than others.
