Plymouth 2025

I love Alfie but can't help he is just playing it safe/stalling his career with convenient regular Plymouth rather than push on elsewhere.

I'm not sure he's been awash with phone calls, he's on an awkward average where others want to take a chance on an unknown and gain an asset. I'm not sure how much he can do to push on by forcing a move elsewhere?

Looking around the other declared or strongly rumoured line up's if Bowtell and Joe Thompson (who was presumably much sought after on that average) are 4th and 5th in line up in terms of average, with Barker at no higher than 3rd, then Plymouth would not be the weakest 3-4-5 by any means.

As always for them it's all about getting a couple of bona fide heat leaders.

A fit Covatti would be an excellent No 2.

No surprise to see Alfie and Joe back. Be interesting to see if the plan is to start with Alfie at reserve.

If I've read it right, with reductions they come in on 5.07 & 5.63 respectively. Assuming Barker will be named in due course (believe he'd be 5.87). I make that 16.57, leaving a healthy 23.43 and would be a solid, if not spectacular engine room.

Will be interesting if that is the 3-4-5 as you suggest. Barker can't be anything higher than the 3rd heat leader if Plymouth are to be more competitive this season.

Not convinced by Covatti on his starting average but let's wait and see.

Wonder if they may shell out like they did with Crump and Bjaerne?

Zagar is going to be in UK most Mondays for Brummies , can they still ride Plymouth Home matches on a Tuesday?, he's ridden for Trelawny so will know Phillips?.

Not sure what his CL average would be but he could make 5 starts round Plymouth and be almost undeatable round there. Win your home matches that's key?

Has he not been announced yet?

Would I be wrong in assuming that Ben Barker and Kyle Newman are certainties next year? How about a return for Ben Trigger since he's struggling for a team place, could double up with the National Trophy side? Lasse Fredriksen isn't back at Edinburgh but is hinting at having a Championship place lined up.

1. Nico Covatti

2. Kyle Newman

3. Joe Thompson

4. Dan Gilkes/Alfie Bowtell

5. Ben Barker

6. Alfie Bowtell/Lasse Fredriksen

7. Ben Trigger

Strong reserves but not a very good top end, a typical Plymouth team.
