If the Poole reserve rides well enough to outscore (say) Tobias Thomsen -- by no means an impossible target -- he would be retained. That's rubbish, any 2 pointer will never get anywhere near Thomson's average that is an impossible target.

I don't think it's him but someone with compatively better form in Oz over the past few years My hunch is that Poole have collared an Aussie who has not ridden competitively in the UK before; who was very close to signing for another Team in the CL; and who Poole unlike the other Team involved have successfully argued a case for to be on a 4 point average and not a 5 point average based on pulling strings with the Management Committee, based on some form elsewhere in Europe. It's not a name I've seen mentioned anywhere so I'll keep stum on it for now but it'll all make sense when it happens! Haha, not bringing out the old Poole get preferential treatment again!!

Best Australian riders without UK experience (or 2025 team): Fraser Bowes Mitchell Cluff Jack Morrison Harrison Ryan Patrick Hamilton Michael West Bowes, Cluff and West come in on 5. While the first two would be worth a punt on that average I agree with your analysis that West isn't 'worth' a 5 average. The other three come in on 4. Morrison is 27 (or thereabouts), Hamilton rode at the Isle of Wight and Iwade this year - I think he'd struggle to make 4. That leaves Harrison Ryan as the one I'd keep an eye on. Polish U24 2024 records: Rides points James Pearson 80 135 Fraser Bowes 73 105 Mitchell Cluff 72 111 Michael West 46

But magic and a little bit of coercion that other Clubs don't posess gets them on a 4 point average to fit in their Poole team!

Vinnie is a one off there is no other 2 point rider that will get to a 4 point average by the end of June, Thomsen finished on 4.41 and his average will increase so absolutely no chance any current 2 pointer will get to that level. Yes but Tobias won't be facing another season having lost his best friend and mechanic as well as becoming a dad for the 2nd time! With a new and respected mechanic, his end of season scores, which didn't affect his GSA, will continue upwards and out of reach of a reserve, imo.
