Now the Champ fixtures are out. How many Lge matches before young Cairns gets a GSA ?? I notice Poole ride 7 Lge matches before he rides his first match against Glasgow at home on 2nd July. Meaning in effect 9 Lge fixtures left prior to any play offs if they qualify. Can anyone confirm what the qualifying criteria is as get the feeling they have timed it so he keeps his 2 point GSA also for 2026. I know the play offs do not count for GSA's. Similar the BSN qualifiers that counted will also be completed before July. Only 6 matches needed for a new average, Cairns would get a new average before the season ends. Of course one factor to consider is any of those 7 matches may get postponed and add to the 9 and, not wishing the young lad bad fortune, he has to remain fit for the matches

I think Scott is the strongest unsigned 2.00 rider, however he may not want to risk his average going above 2.00 knowing he'll get dropped. If it does go above 2.00 makes it harder for him to fit into the Oxford team as a double switch with Nicholls - not that's there's a guarantee he'll fit even on a 2.00 average. I think Jody Scott would be better off agreeing to ride 5 matches (& KOC) for Poole, then see what his average is before deciding wether to carry on? It's a very unique situation, of a rider knowing he'll be dropped, so he's bound to think of his average, compared to normal 2.00 signings. Problem is that don't the 4 BSN Qualifiers also count in the GSA calculation (thought they did last season), which would make it totally unviable if they also have 7 Lge fixtures before 1st July. If jody was the choice then he already has his NDL season sorted with both Oxf & K.Lynn, and if you factor in Poole have 13 fixtures over Champ/BSN and KO Cup before 1st July. Considering Jody is only 18 in Feb 25 that's not a bad meeting haul as of Jan 2025 and that's not counting all the younger rider individual meetings. If he is doing okay I am sure that another team would go for him if they see he is doing well (assuming Oxford could/do not want to fit him in. Falcon1983
With no poole in the cup Should revert to a group format similar to what they do in the champions league One group of 7 but sides ride one home and one away meeting randomly selected, top 4 go into the semi finals Ipswich vs Kings Lynn Oxford vs Belle Vue Sheffield vs Birmingham Leicester vs Ipswich Kings Lynn vs Oxford Belle Vue vs Sheffield Birmingham vs Leicester reckon it would make it quite interesting as its only 2 matches, so you'd likely stand a chance of progression
