Why is it a shambles

Poole were asked and declined

And I'm no Poole fan

Shambles because it was announced Poole were in. Now they pull out. Don’t care who is right or wrong or who said what and when. The fact is this is a huge stinking pile of cow muck. Not surprised it’s gone like this.

An excellent post pop,be stupid anybody buying the club as its very existence is reliant on the whims of Clarke Osborne.matt ford is  imo the best team builder by a mile ,but has had a very interesting recent few years and I don't think sporting ambition is top of the list anymore

Wow. Its all got a bit deep hasn't it?! Judging by Poole's trophy cabinet it looks very much like the ambition is still to win every competition Poole are in - whether it be Matt's or Danny's ambition? Or both?! As well as to make a profit.

Trophy-winning teams, very decent sponsorship and continued strong attendances on your chosen preferred racenight are a great business model. So why change it......?

I didn't agree with you coming to join the Prem party. But once you were invited, i thought that Ford would of wanted to give his many loyal fans a treat, with the chance of seeing some top riders. I guess calculator said no..

I missed that 2nd release... whichever way you look at it, it's a bit of a balls up, hope nobody had hotels booked etc.

I was watching a Darts documentary the other night and back in the day of the BDO it reminded me so much of the Speedway setup, the guy running the operation seemed to be working out of a shop in the backstreets of nowheresville, reminded me of a certain somebody running Speedway from a Caravan in the back end of Lincolnshire!

It seems nobody wants to put their head above the parapet and take on the chairman's job, including your Promotor.  I think you will find current chairman runs a speedway club that does not go beyond its financial commitments. He also runs a thriving garage business. Lastly  the back end of Lincolnshire must be over the border, since the EWR is in a completely different county of North Lincolnshire.

Exactly clive ,as you say the ambition is to win the competition they're in,not the top competition ,that would be ambition.I fully understand all the reasons for staying where they are and if it was my decision I would do the same however going back I don't think matt would have been content with lower league speedway

It's still Matt's club though and he's in daily contact with Danny during the season as well as sorting out all the rider contracts. He was also very involved in the successful 'Save Coventry' appeal hearing as potential promoter/co-promoter of speedway which he stated would return at Championship level.

Anyway changing the subject, the Poole R.E.F. are holding a quiz night on Weds 15th Jan at Broadstone Royal British Legion Club. Special guests will be William Cairns and his father who are travelling down from Aylesbury.

This is the Jubilee Cup Final all over again that was never going to happen and so was this two league challenge never going to happen

Difference being, one called off before the season commenced, the other (as far as I know), has still not officially been called off.😁

Would like to put this post out again as no responses received, other than the ongoing exchanges re Poole not participating in the Prem KO Cup.

Now the Champ fixtures are out.

How many Lge matches before young Cairns gets a GSA ??

I notice Poole ride 7 Lge matches before he rides his first match against Glasgow at home on 2nd July. Meaning in effect 9 Lge fixtures left prior to any play offs if they qualify.

Can anyone confirm what the qualifying criteria is as get the feeling they have timed it so he keeps his 2 point GSA also for 2026. I know the play offs do not count for GSA's. Similar the BSN qualifiers that counted will also be completed before July.
