If we go by last year instead, try explaining to a new fan that one team have decided not to bother entering and the two worst teams in the league have been given a bye to the semi-finals. Expand Personally do not think the EFL trophy is comparable as it is open to all Premier League and Championship u21 teams to play against League one and league two teams. Another competition following the same path won't make any difference... It will deter hardly one Poole fan from attending I would think, as we all know how it all works.. Surely no one still takes UK Speedway too seriously? The crowd at Sheffield might by a bit impacted given the competition may have a low interest for some top league fans, but the turn out at Poole should be decent... Expand Nobody will ever take British speedway seriously until they adopt the Lucky Loser rule like Poland and Sweden.

As for Poole not wanting Premiership, they've been there, lost money, can't race on their traditional Weds race night and still get healthy Championship attendances with 30% less cost! It's a no brainer a d has been well documented. Expand From my point of view, Poole's involvement means another opportunity to watch speedway, which is great. All this fuss about a championship club being in a Premiership competition, is really little more than hot air because the standards are so similar, complainers are kidding themselves of the great divide, I think.
poole keith
theyre not so similar though bitza if the regular poole team raced sheffield , poole would be annihilated ,hence the need to bring in two top riders in order to be competitive. If it did go ahead with usual teams sheffield wouldnt be interested.Tho a decent enough crowd would turn up at poole to watch tai and the holders im sure most sheffield fans wouldnt bother to watch a poole champioship team especially if sheffield had easily won the away leg

So in simple terms take a top four Championship team add a couple top riders to replace the replacement riders, and you have a Premiership type team. Bosh job done. Triple.H.
Why not have Poole use their CL team and all the Sheffield riders start from a 15m handicap both home and away. IMO it would even things up a bit. Even better if a temporary set of tapes could be rigged up.
RS50
I believe Anders Rowe will be left out, as Sheffield get priority. So just leave out the temporary number 7, and Rowe, and get two big hitters. Team, 1 Premier guest 2 Cook, 3 Lawson 4 Kerr, 5 Premier guest 6 Thomsen 7 Starke
