I would think Poole is the most "pressure club" to join, the club & fans expect to win every season & riders know they could be dropped if they don't perform, even if the team is doing well. If you don't want any pressure go to Berwick, Edinburgh or Plymouth, they're used to losing lol! Yeah Poole has to be a pressure club to join because they are so driven by success. No doubt they will have offered William the biggest financial package which if your in a position to do that who wouldn't.

William made his choice on many factors and advised by many people I would imagine.

Hancock doesn't exactly have a great record as a mentor! He has a great record of getting significant financial benefit from those he has mentored; with very little for the recipient of his knowledge, gained from it. To coin a phrase, no doubt he has grinned all the way to the bank. The Cairns family clearly have the means to give their clearly very talented son the very best chance of success he can have. Sport shows though that in the heat of battle, in that brutal first turn, no amount of coaching, mentoring will help you, it's brutal , its survival of the fittest and hungriest. It will be interesting to see how Mr Cairns develops.

lewy
Signing cairns is Poole's contribution to the development of British youth, cherry pick the best with the lure of ££££s without helping the development of the youngsters, just a throwaway item like Max Perry last season.

Well said Lewy. They can't be arsed to run a team at NDL level, but want the NDL to exist for their convenience, run by other clubs. Poole Parasites Probably a case of they are not prepared to lose money rather than they can't be bothered. Does anyone break even in the NDL?
