The failure to secure VJ-F just doesn't add up?

He was IN when limit was 38 points

He would have FITTED in a 40 point Team

We know that Danny boy spat his dummy out at the AGM to the degree some teams voted 40 just to wind him up!

Now we get the "throw away line" from his Andrex sponsor and monitor Clive - that "Danny is no longer on the Management Committee"

THAT throw away line needs EXPLAINING Clive as it does not appear to have been announce anywhere???...

So the question is..

Why no VJ-F

Was he pushed out?

Did he pull himself out?

Why no transparency ??..

Answers please

It never ceases to amaze how interested so many non-Pirate 'fans' are in all things Poole Speedway and how personal and vitriolic the comments can be!!

Apologies for the delay in replying but the hospital was running late...

So - In one of the 38 point team options, Vinnie was included but possibly in the 1-5. In one of the 40 point team options the 1-5 and number 6 is a different line-up with the extra 2 points to play with.

 -  As for the BSPL Board, Danny Ford advised that he needed to step down for 2025, due to additional 'off-track' personal commitments. It's not my place to say what they are but he was 100% forthcoming to the club's sponsors! He is replaced by Edinburgh's John Campbell, but has agreed to remain as 'first reserve' as and when required, subject to commitments!! NB. its the BSPL's place to make their announcement.

So I hope thats sufficient for everyone, but I guess we'll see.......

lets hope for your sake he is not a Labour voter  . Kier Starmer could be tied up in this  . letters of intent are not worth the paper they are written on .

As a retired High Court Barrister I can assure you that they are worth the paper they car written on and the strength come on the clauses. An example could be a rider is not allowed the sign for different club without the original clubs permission and a substantial compensation payment made to the original club. Although I have no experience of doing a LoI for Speedway I have done such agreements for Premiership Football clubs that have been found in court to be binding.

But he can sign a "Letter of Intent" and it depends how strongly that is worded as to if it is guaranteed.

If I remember correctly I saw a Youtube interview with Cairns late last Summer while staying at his mentor Greg Hancock's place in Sweden, that he actually mentioned he had agreed a deal with a Champ side in 2025 when he turns 16.

I think it may have been that interview when all the Cairns joining Poole rumours/comments started to leak out.

Both Father and Son are ambitious. They have spent thousands of pounds and completed as many miles trekking across the UK and Europe to get the boy where he is today. Belle Vue was chosen for NL for the racing circuit and for CL they will be looking at where is the best possibility of silverware. Track record says thats the Pirates so a fairly easy assumption to make.

I have to say that Paul Starke  did disappoint me. However I seem to recall that  when he tried big blasts coming out of the 2nd bend he was inadvertently blocked by his team mate, lost momentum and thereafter couldn't make much of an impact in the race. His machinery/chains also let him down. When he did gate he was fine and with Poole being a gate and go track he should do OK against the less experienced reserves in opposition teams.

Starke isn't the rider he was a few years back... but he should do a solid job at reserve at Poole all season. He's not going to catch Tobias in terms of average.

I'm guessing Starke was option B and they were trying to get a certain Aussie in on a 4.00 but he would have been a 5.00, hence the 'numbers game' excuse with Vinnie who as it turns out would have fit.

That championship team was Workington. Before Poole came in, disregarded anything that had been agreed, and blew Workington out of the water with the money. Disgraceful.

Hardly Poole’s fault if that was the case. Cairns could have stayed if he really wanted too.Thats Sport.

Of course it would Workington have a great track Poole don't, for a young rider looking to make strides in the sport Workington would be the better option unless ££££ come in to it.

But he's at BV so a track you have to work at as well.

But the 'letter of intent' would have to be with Will's parent or guardian, wouldn't it?

Surely 15-year-olds cant legally sign binding agreements?

I don't think a "letter of intent" is a legally binding agreement.

Generally no, but there are exceptions. They can sign a valid contract if the contract is beneficial to them...
