Poole 2025

Bearing in mind Poole announced Richard Lawson on Sept 1st (his testimonial) and then Danny Ford said in November that the whole 1-7 would be announced by Christmas - reiterated on Saturday - I guess its all been planned carefully. 2025 Season tickets already announced with prices frozen at 2024 rates and some new additional sponsors coming on board - all is well at Wimborne Road, with a new track grader blade in situ and new air fence planned in readiness for 2026!!

Will it still be Gate and Go at Wimborne Rd yet again in 2025 ,it’s the least entertaining track alongside Plymouth

Edinburgh won the champ convincingly a few years back with masters, cook, sedgy side with some pretty duff reserves. Clegg and Aaron fox I think it was averaged just over 3. So there is a precedent

It was 2015 Monarchs won with Clegg & Branford in the team, both started on 3.00 (minimum that season) & ended on about 3.50. That team was similar to the way Glasgow have built their team, but it's not often clubs win things starting with 2 low averaged reserves.

The local council are seeking to rename Wimborne Road to Trophy Place.😇 Although Champion Way is also under consideration along with Treble Avenue.😂

I heard your cleaning staff are still finding our empty bottles of champagne at Wimborne Road from when we swaggered down to Dorset fourteen months ago, won the league and paraded the trophy around your stadium.

I’ve not stated about winning things I’ve asked about your racetrack and the racing on it . So a serious few questions .

is the racing at Poole better than

Glasgow = NO

Redcar = No

Oxford = No

Scunthorpe = No

Workington  =  No

Berwick = debate able

Edinburgh = Yes

Plymouth =Yes

Poole are very good on there own track and certain away tracks I admit but I could not watch speedway at Poole as Speedway is allegedly classed as an entertainment as well .so winning at the detriment of providing entertainment you keep watching it in Poole while I’ll visit tracks were there is good  hard racing for 4 laps each race and not just the first 80 metres of the first lap

Finally it makes sense because I've never seen any track grading at Wimborne Road, just scraping dirt off the track. Something I've never seen at any other track during a meeting on a dry day. The Poole punters might be happy with the product on show but I'd rate the racing as the worst in the league.

But successful and entertaining teams also have to win away,as Poole did this year at every track in either League, Cup or BSN.

I'm not saying there team weren't good I watched them many times winning away on BSN but I wouldn't watch them live at home except when hammering Glasgow because there was no passing after the first lap unless someone made a mistake.

Take the last meeting of the season Ashton Boughen looks like a novice in first 2 rides then makes a start and beats Richard Lawson in his 3rd ride, then tailed off last in his 4th ride

Poole know a winning team gets them a decent following..

They also know that hardly anyone could name the Premiership Champions let alone those the two tiers lower..

Therefore. Why lay out £100k more to maybe be lower in the table and reduce crowd numbers?

An excellent business model for Poole...

But they do spend money on their team at Championship level but nothing on the racing surface. One of the best meeting I ever saw on TV was the speedway World Cup at Poole but now the racing is garbage

Because he went off the throttle. Nothing to do with the track. Oxford fans say he been doing it for a while. Interesting to see if he does it next season.
