Kerr needs to step up next season or we are stuffed.

needs to step up to what?

he is a 7.5-8 point rider so if he maintains his average he'll be doing his job

cook rowe cairns and probably the other rider will be your improvers

lawson kerr and thomsen are what they are

No he isnt, with his ability he should be a 8.5 point rider and was at the start of last season but had a bad season so it dropped. Riding with Lawson I expect him to get back to at least that level, he is a top rider in the championship, just needs to show it.

The team had to lose 5.80 points after team building discounts. It was always going to look weaker. Once the other sides are all announced, I think the Poole team will look very good.

It's pointless to compare teams to previous years - it's only worth comparing them to the opposition they will face. On that measure, I don't think there will be any concerns.

Most sensible post of the month goes to you.

Yep, agree with that. Feel like the 3 and 4 position is important to get right. Zach and Anders should be putting a point on their average imo.

True, but I think the stability of being in a pretty much all conquering side brought him on that little bit further though.

The biggest shock is replacing someone who rarely missed a meeting with someone who seems to spend more time in A&E than riding.

Winning breeds confidence I guess. He started the season for both teams as he finished the last. The extra responsibility with Brum coupled with the lesser pressure at Poole is probably a fairer view.

I'm no Poole fan but you can't argue that riders more often than not come away from there as better riders, especially the younger ones.

Yes Zach and Anders should be improvers so should Tobias who was averaging well above his average at the end of last season but I also think kerr should be able to improve on his current average too.

Regularly

 You mean speedway I assume?

Once a week if you're lucky, but more often a 2 or 3 week gap, then nothing for 6 months.....

Just hope Kerr has an injury free season for you, he's had so many bad injuries through the years, one or 2 have taken a lot of guts to come back from.

I'll put my neck out and say Kerr gets close to a 9.00 average next season, if he can remain healthy.

The Poole press release notes he was in the top-15 averages in the Championship, and with at least two riders above him (Brennan and Ben Cook) no longer riding in the league, standards are being lowered, he can hopefully put 1.00+ on his average

Big business needed for the final three riders. This is a credit to Poole‘s team building ability over the years, but it isn’t a stand-out team so far.

Kerr is a strange one. I really like him and rate him, but he’s gone from Oxford’s third heat leader to Berwick’s number one and now Poole’s second heat leader over the past three seasons; it plays into the statement that you never know what Lewis Kerr you’re getting.

I saw him smoke Chris Harris two or three times at Shielfield Park last season, but I also saw Lee Complin absolutely bully and out-ride him at Ashfield in the Play-Off semi-final in 2023.

It’s Poole though, so it’s almost a nailed-on guarantee that he’ll have a good season.

Ambiguous statement for me regarding  coming away as better riders. Perhaps you could define what you mean by better riders ?. Young riders as we seen with Max Perry get dropped if not performing he certainly didn't come away as a better rider. Vinnie showed rapid improvement in his form than he had showed in the NDL the season before.

Poole tend generally to make good decisions on rider recruitment ie good eye for improvers. Such riders would become more experienced and improve wherever they ride imo.

I think you're being a bit ambitious there, I don't know where they've got the top 15 stat from unless they are using rolling averages to make it sound better.

Kerr averaged 7.09 last season, making him 20th on the list. I can't see him putting nearly 2 points on that at this stage of his career with the injuries he's had.
