Guess riders who want a challenge more likely to go for it. Fair point, I can see many riders seeing it as an opportunity to show what they can do, a bit like Vinnie did. I always had a sneeking suspicion that someone had said to Max Perry something like "it's OK lad nobody's expecting you to win every heat just go out and express yourself" and he took it a little too literally. stevehone
i think Sam's slump in form came when he went to Leicester, maybe it was too much at that point or his confidence took a massive hit

Not a bad fit all in all. To say it again a rider doesn't become bad overnight, Sam has slumped but he will come back just a matter of when, hopefully 2025 at Wimborne Road. I would settle for Howarth over Kerr

If Poole went with 2 x 2.00 riders I'd agree with you, but if the other reserve is Thomsen the new 2 pointer would know he's leaving (of Cairns has signed for Poole). What is more worrying is that 40 points is the limit for each of the next 3 seasons, which (assuming the same number of teams) will likely weaken the league even more.

Steve Shovlar
Howarth is certainly on his way down. If he gates he is quick but that’s it. Kerr, well he’s injured a lot. Wouldn’t want Danny King. Certainly past his best days. Lawson and Kerr the experience. Zach still improving, as is Rowe and Tobias now he knows the tracks. Starke I wouldn’t have had but if he can get reliable bikes and gives his all could hit 5 points. The other two pointer knows he will be likely replaced BUT can put himself in the shop window against failing reserves in other teams.
